The Role: Sensus, a Xylem brand, seeks to hire a Facilities/Maintenance Manager. This position is responsible for all plant maintenance activities relating to production, equipment, facilities and grounds. This position requires professional and preventive maintenance experience, thinking and planning to permit efficient attainment of manufacturing plans and high-level efficiency of state-of-the-art manufacturing processes in CNC Machining, Meter Production and Assembly, and Electronics areas.
Job Responsibilities:
- Keeps abreast of the latest technology advancements relative to industrial maintenance, programmable controllers, robotics and industrial communication networks.
- Acts as primary resource to facilitate all plant maintenance activities. Provide support and direction for all corrective maintenance activities and actively participate in all capital projects.
- Maintains continuity of operations via communication with Production Supervisors and other support teams.
- Identify root cause of issues and document issues and corrective actions.
- Develop, monitor and continually critique practices and procedures to achieve and exceed department and organizational goals.
- Develop and implement all preventive and predictive maintenance processes including CMMS development and inventory systems.
- Maintain a personnel structure and staffing level to accomplish department and operation objectives.
- Motivate, train, provide direction and continuous performance feedback to employees; measure their performance and verify adherence to job instructions, quality system requirements and company policies, rules and practices.
- Enforce and require a culture of good housekeeping, safety and environmental practices and policies.
- Maintains record keeping of all plant documentation, manuals, drawings, etc.
- Control costs within recommended and agreed parameters on purchased parts or services.
- Maintain/Improve infrastructure, buildings, grounds, properties to applicable codes and corporate expectations.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology or related field is preferred.
- Minimum of five years maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Must communicate effectively in verbal, written and presentation form.
- Ability to direct and manage the proper utilization of personnel.
- Ability to organize, plan, both short and long-range objectives, and to manage and control an extensive three-shift operation.
- Excellent working knowledge of mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic processes with an emphasis on PLC-based process automation control systems.
- Ability to analyze a variety of complex maintenance situations or problems, and arrive at workable, sound solutions or recommendations.
- Knowledge of latest building codes, insurance and risk management policy requirements, OSHA, EPA and PADEP regulations.
- Proficiency with personal computers, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Visio), and the latest project management, AutoCad and preventive maintenance software and programs.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing strategies and techniques.
