SCOPE OF POSITION**:**

This key leadership position will report to the Director, Fund Development and is responsible for the overall operation, success and continuous improvement/development of Oxfam Canada’s Face to Face (F2F) and Tele-Fundraising (TF) program.

Located in Ottawa or Vancouver, this position will work as part of the Fund Development Team using best practices and innovations in the sector to maintain current markets and develop new markets nationally for face to face donor acquisition through street, door to door and private site campaigns.

This position will also oversee a small phone team, with year round phone campaigns related to Oxfam Canada’s monthly giving program.

Some travel and irregular work hours may be required.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES: (This is not an exhaustive list of the duties to be performed)

  • Responsible for maintaining and expanding Oxfam Canada’s F2F and TF program including making recommendations, developing and implementing plans to expand into new markets and for the use of innovations in face to face and tele-fundraising
  • Work closely with Annual Giving unit on implementing overall strategy
  • Responsible for setting and regularly monitoring KPIs
  • Managing the relationship with the F2F and TF team of vendors to ensure success in accordance with these set KPIs.
  • Develop and delivering new starter training program for F2F and TF fundraisers.
  • Be field-based a minimum of two days a week to ensure a ‘hands on’ approach
  • Reporting in writing to the Director on a weekly basis on the program’s performance related to set KPIs.
  • Ensure that site bookings, permits and compliance issues are in line with local regulations and standards.
  • Conduct regular meetings with team leaders and fundraisers to maximize their performances and their development.
  • Develop private sites fundraising and a private sites fundraising strategy.
  • Develop strong relationships with staff in other departments to enable the F2F and TF teams to feel closely connected to Oxfam’s core vision and values.
  • Managing external vendor relationships related to F2F and TF programs as needed.
  • Ensure the smooth running of F2F and TF operations, work, including systems and budget management
  • Ensure complaint levels are kept at a minimum, and manage and respond to complaints in a timely and appropriate manner.
  • Ensure fundraisers have a weekly update that contains Oxfam updates and incentives.
  • Management of stock and equipment levels to support the face to face program

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE & COMPETENCIES**:**

  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in face to face fundraising and a minimum of two (2) years directly managing a face to face team.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience running face to face fundraiser training sessions, including developing and implementing training materials and programs for face to face fundraising teams.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in the management of face to face budgets.
  • Experience negotiating and managing face to face and tele-fundraising agencies and contracts.
  • Demonstrated success in expanding and developing face to face markets and programs
  • Successful track record of strong time and project management skills.
  • Ability to analyze, interpret & explain results with a focus and drive on results.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Exceptional influencing and persuasive skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with confidence, determination, resilience and good team working skills.
  • Adaptability and a ‘can do’ approach
  • High level of initiative to work independently and with a focus on daily results.
  • Ability to work autonomously.
  • Experience planning work up to one year in advance
  • Experience with negotiations with face to face and telemarketing agencies
  • Ability to collate information from a wide range of well-defined sources.
  • Curious, enthusiastic and willing to innovate and adapt
  • Willingness to sign and abide by the Oxfam Code of Conduct.
