This is a fantastic career opportunity to join an innovative, passionate team that demands focus, persistence, and dynamism in the growing Climate sector! 3Degrees is hiring a European Analyst, Environmental Markets to join our growing team and help organizations around the world achieve their renewable energy and decarbonization goals. We are looking for someone who is a skilled Excel aficionado who enjoys building tools, constructing multifaceted supply and demand models, and finding insightful methods of illustrating complex data. Your desire to learn the ins and outs of environmental commodity markets drives you to add your own flavor to your work, whether it be legislative knowledge, market commentary, or industry hearsay.
This position is open to candidates ideally based within a commutable distance of our office in Oslo Norway, where you can enjoy a flexible, hybrid-working pattern. Exceptional candidates based remotely in Hungary, Italy, Spain, UK, Netherlands and Norway may also be considered. This role reports to the Lead Portfolio Manager EMEA.

WHAT YOU’LL DO
This Analyst will join the Environmental Markets team which manages the domestic and international Energy Attribute Certificate (EACs) business at 3Degrees. This person supports our internal market and pricing analysis efforts. The ideal candidate has experience with environmental commodity markets, especially Guarantees of Origins (GOs) and Renewable Energy Guarantees of Origin (REGO). Position responsibilities include:
Developing comprehensive supply and demand models to support 3Degrees’ business, including:
Evaluating and conducting due diligence for GO and REGO deal opportunities
Constructing nuanced market insights across a variety of geographies and products within continental Europe
Conducting research and analysis to help guide the development of trading strategy to include:
Execute weekly scheduled pricing and portfolio reporting
Assist our Regulatory Affairs team with research on potential legislative, regulatory, or policy changes affecting the European markets
Manage and update existing market reports and convey results to different teams
Support European portfolio managers with ad hoc analyses
Engaging with, updating, and running Excel VBA-based and Tableau reporting tools to help guide portfolio decisions
Apply more advanced technical skills in SQL to improve analyses
