Your opportunity

Dillon’s Environmental Sciences technical group is looking an Environmental Sciences Risk & Impact Manager to join our team. In this position, you will lead and manage projects while providing strategic risk-based environmental decision making and direction by advising on appropriate risk and impact approaches for various projects and business development initiatives, as well as supporting the team's growth and development.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate and execute the successful completion of project work.
  • Provide technical oversight and peer review on multi-disciplinary environmental projects.
  • Preparation and technical review of written reports, compilation and revision of contracts and other supporting documentation.
  • Contribution and leadership in the implementation of Dillon’s strategic growth plan and operational business plans within the Environmental Sciences technical group.
  • Leadership in the development and enhancement of relationships with existing clients.
  • Leadership in the identification and development of new business opportunities with both private and public sector clients.
  • Commitment to being part of a learning organization, to providing leadership and contributing to the career development of junior/intermediate staff, including providing technical direction, training recommendations, coaching and mentoring.
  • Contribution to Dillon’s corporate profile through active participation in professional associations and committees, as well as continued fostering of client relationships.
  • Travel to other business locations and Dillon offices for the purposes of client relationship development, opportunity/project research and project delivery, as necessary.

Qualifications

What you will need to succeed

  • A degree or technical college certificate/diploma in geology, civil or environmental engineering, hydrogeology, or another relevant environmental science, social science, or engineering discipline or equivalent in IT, Business, Planning, or Finance
  • Knowledge of applicable regulations, governance, risk management theories and standards, principles and practice preferred.
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Bilingual in French (working level) considered an asset
  • CRM or other risk designation considered an asset

Experience

  • 7+ years of experience in risk management, analysis or environmental consulting.
  • Proven Project Management experience
  • Knowledge in several of the following disciplines: civil infrastructure; construction project context; program management; project controls environment; risk management theory, principles and practice will be considered an asset
  • MS Excel (VBA macros) experience, MS Access, MS Project, MS PowerPoint, SharePoint and Software Development experience preferred
  • Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Demonstrated people management skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and in multidisciplinary teams.
  • Data compilation, interpretation and report writing.
  • Strong working knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite of products.
  • Knowledge of georeferenced (GIS) related information and products.
  • Committed to a culture of quality including a keen attention to detail
  • Ability to organize, prioritize and plan work to meet time-based deliverables and adapt to changing expectations
