Job Summary

This role is responsible for Textile Exchange’s overall applications and solutions architecture. The ideal candidate keeps up with the technology innovations, trends, and developments in the sustainable textile sector, and research, reviews, and recommends improvements on Textile Exchange’s solutions offering from the perspective of design, integration, and technical fit with other Textile Exchange digital strategy and existing architecture.

The Enterprise Solution Architect will work with the Director of Data and Technology to oversee all planning, designing and implementation of  all enterprise solutions and applications.

Like all roles at Textile Exchange, the role will be home-based with some travel required. Candidates must be available to work across Asian, European and US time zones.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Keep up and champion technology innovation and development in the sustainable textile sector, particularly around data exchange, traceability, provenance, and proof of impact.
  • Responsible for Textile Exchange’s solution architecture and the planning, design, development and maintenance of all applications and solutions.
  • Ensure the design and development of Textile Exchange’s solution fits the data ecosystem and supports data needs in the sector.
  • Champion
  • Ensure the smooth operation of data ingestion, pipeline and reporting in the Enterprise Data Platform and the integration with front end UI.
  • Troubleshoot and address any break-fix needs in solutions and applications.
  • Manage the technical team and external consultants and solution providers for overall technical delivery.
  • Defines and manages data governance designs from the technical perspective.
  • Develop and maintain enterprise architecture design, models, roadmap, and other technical documentations.

Job Requirements

  • 3-5 years’ experience in similar role or capacity.
  • 8-10 years’ experience in software development and implementation.
  • Experienced in solutioning Azure cloud-based Enterprise Data Solution.
  • Experienced in areas such as application design and development, application integration, middleware, database management or operations, information security, technical architecture, network management, and mobility.
  • Demonstrates well-rounded technology experience/exposure including data collection systems, contact management systems, financial management systems, traceability systems etc.
  • Strong thought leader who will champion innovative solutions in data exchange, traceability, provenance, and proof of impact.
  • Proven ability to develop detailed solution designs.
  • Experience in waterfall and agile development methodologies.
  • Solid understanding of multiple disciplines such as operating systems, visualization, networking, integration, software development, endpoint devices, security, and cloud services.
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent from a reputable university in Information Technology or Computer Science or equivalent discipline.
  • Excellent verbal/written communication skills, including communicating technical issues and complex solutions to non-technical audiences.
  • Strong organizational, analytical ability, judgment, and problem analysis techniques with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and have strong interpersonal skills to work effectively in a cross functional team.

Employment Package

  • Reports to: Director of Data & Technology
  • Full Time Position, 40 hours a week
  • Location: Virtual / remote
  • Salary Range: US $70,000 – 110,000 per year
  • Textile Exchange is currently unable to provide sponsorship for work permits. Candidates need to have existing right to work in nominated working location.
