The Role: Sensus, a Xylem brand, seeks to hire an Energy Product Manag****er Intern who will have the chance to influence product development on a global scale as part of the Energy Product Management team. As an intern, he/she will learn how Product Management interfaces with Customers, Sales, Marketing, & Engineering to simplify a sustainable, digital future for water and energy. Depending on the aptitude and interest, he/she will be assigned primary project that will facilitate learning and advance company goals.
The hourly rate for an intern is dependent on a variety of factors including major, year in school and geographic location. The average hourly rate for an intern is between $21.00 - $27.00/hour. Locations of internships will vary based on the specified project and function, and will either be on-site, hybrid or fully remote.
Essential Duties / Principal Responsibilities can include:
- Learn the existing technology stack and articulate the differentiated value of the Sensus solution
- Assist with continuous improvement activities to improve product line health and profitability
- Perform market research by investigating the problems energy utilities face through stakeholder interviews, data analysis, and monitoring the activities of the competition
- Collaborate with cross functional teams to work through technical and commercial hurdles to implement the product roadmap
- Communicate with stakeholders through reports and presentations
Minimum Qualifications:
- The ability to have fun and work with integrity
- Working towards a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or Business from an accredited institution, or equivalent
- Demonstrate excellent computer, communication, presentation, management and analytical skills. Be a self-starter with high motivation to achieve goals
- Strong interpersonal, teamwork and problem-solving skills
- Ability to understand technical issues and understand impact on projects, and effectively communicate these issues to stakeholders
- Flexibility in terms of dealing with changing priorities and dealing with multiple projects simultaneously
Preferred Qualifications
- Fluent in English; multi-lingual capabilities desirable
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent data analysis skills (Excel/Python/R/GIS)
- Technical familiarity with electronics, radio communications, software, or water systems
- Strong project management skills with proven ability to influence cross-functional teams without formal authority
- Be a self-starter with high motivation skills
