Responsibilities

Position Overview

Receive and address all calls for the after-hours emergency or crisis situations for New Hampshire and Massachusetts Community Based Programs (including Intercept and LifeSet).

Specialist will be responsible for being phone-available (free of distractions) during their assigned working hours. Specialist will be responsible for answering all emergent calls, as they occur. Specialist will be tasked with gathering demographic information from caller regarding enrolled youth/young adult to retrieve clinical documentation and log call in required systems. Specialist will utilize assessment and clinical skills to gather information regarding the reason of the call and move through triage and de-escalation activities as needed. Specialist will utilize clinical skills to attempt safety planning and situation stabilization to attempt to divert physical response when appropriate. Specialist will also initiate mobilization of response ready staff when phone de-escalation intervention is not effective or appropriate.

Specialist will also be responsible for completing check in calls with high risk families and young adult as indicated. Specialist will be responsible for being active in email during their triage shift in order to receive any additional updates or safety plans. Specialist will be responsible for utilizing SharePoint, Evolv, and other YV Systems to obtain information regarding callers. Specialist will also be responsible for documenting each incoming correspondence in the appropriate manner (on-call report, Evolv, email, etc) and distributing pertinent information to the on-call leadership team and primary clinical team.

Manage the clinical needs of those calls by gathering thorough assessment information and de-escalating high risk situations with clients and families

Attempt to divert as many situations from needing a face to face response

Review Evolv for youth and family information that might be helpful during a crisis call

Notify direct care and supervisory staff for follow ups needed the next day

Participate in individual supervision and group meeting weekly

Additional Information

Shift will be for Friday 5p-11p; Saturday 9a-9p; Sunday 9a-9p

Qualifications

Requirements

A Masters Degree in Counseling, Psychology, or related field preferred

Enrollment in a Masters program required

Previous experience with crisis management

Experience working within the Youth Villages clinical model and Collaborative Problem Solving.

Experience utilizing Evolv as well as Microsoft Office tools.
