About the Project

EdTech Evidence Exchange is a research-based project that is in a portfolio of projects of the nonprofit InnovateEDU. The Exchange is a nationwide effort to document and share edtech insights to help every PK-12 classroom. We aim to provide educators with evidence that will help them better select and implement edtech and to connect educators who work in similar school and division contexts in terms of their edtech implementation.

Position

The Research Project Associate works closely with Exchange’s Project Manager and InnovateEDUs Director of Research to coordinate and provide direct support for a variety of research projects. This includes data collection and recruitment efforts, online platform development, user experience testing, and grant support. Interested candidates will have the opportunity to write for academic audiences.

This is a full-time position with the ability to work remotely. Since March 2020, the entire InnovateEDU staff has worked virtually, and team members are expected to be available during typical office hours in Eastern Standard Time, with some flexibility available. The position may require 20% travel to support sites nationwide.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinating new and ongoing research projects
    • Develop/create and revise workflows and project/organizational procedures
      • Analyzing project tasks and tracking progress
      • Course correcting and documenting changes as needed
      • Recording work processes and SOPs
    • Organize and contribute to project meetings, including maintaining weekly meeting agendas
    • Communicate with product design and development teams to coordinate development and bug tracking
    • Lead design, manage, and conduct user experience testing
    • Work with Project Manager to plan and execute data collections, both virtually and in-person as needed including
      • Engaging with educators and partners to plan data collections
      • Developing and organizing strategic communication plans with partners
      • Creating recruitment materials to disseminate to partners and educators
    • Track survey changes and publish in Qualtrics
      • Managing and maintaining survey codebooks
      • Managing survey rewards integration with Tango
    • Troubleshoot with participants during data collection, often in the moment
    • Provide administrative support to the Project Manager and Director of Research as needed
  • Providing grants support:
    • Work with Project Manager to develop interim and final reports for existing funders including
      • Backmapping
      • Pulling project metrics
      • Generating project drafts
    • Support grant writing/fundraising efforts

Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree in social sciences including teacher education, education policy/leadership, or organizational studies
  • At least 3 years experience in project management
  • At least 3 years supporting research activities or studies, preferably in education research
  • Knowledge of and experience with quantitative and qualitative data collection and analysis
  • Experience developing content and managing logistics for events such as conferences, webinars, or workshops for educators
  • Commitment to InnovateEDU’s mission and vision

  • Highly organized and detail oriented when it comes to deliverables and monitoring and documenting project progress
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in formal and informal settings across a variety of audiences
  • Knowledge of organizational processes and systems
  • Knowledge of research processes
  • Knowledge of Microsoft applications including Excel
  • Knowledge of Google applications Experience in designing and carrying out logistics for events (e.g., workshops or symposia) for educator audiences (task analysis, materials, organizing calendars)

Competitive Qualifications

  • Experience creating and managing surveys in Qualtrics including Tango Rewards incentive integration
  • Familiarity with Stata, Jira, and/or Asana
  • Strong proficiency in Excel and/or Google Sheets
  • Experience developing and streamlining SOPs

Compensation

All candidates are pay-scaled by an independent third-party service or application which calculates the market rate for the applicant based on skills and qualifications, job duties, market conditions within the location of applicant, education and experience. This position’s compensation range begins at $53,000.
