JOB DESCRIPTION
The EJN Organizing Coordinator will work with a dynamic and passionate team in the Economic Justice Programs to mobilize SHCS volunteers, members, partners, and community leaders toward advocating for sustained changes in our broken economic systems through educational workshops, participatory exploration, coalition building, and direct action.
This position requires an individual who likes leading and working in a team, can maintain multiple responsibilities and can stay on top of information and tasks in a fast-paced organization. The EJN Organizing Coordinator will be an active thought partner in the program's continued goal of leadership engagement and development within the program. The EJN Organizing Coordinator will contribute to fulfilling the agency's vision and mission agency-wide, in the Self-Sufficiency Department and Economic Justice Networks. Programming might require some evenings and weekends; onsite.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
Program Management (50%)
Co-lead the development, coordination of programming in all asset- building programs and VITA program logistics development.
Co-leads the development and implementation of outreach and organizing plans including: training, communications systems, databases, strategic and tactical plans.
Oversees the development, tracking, and reporting of advocacy and organizing program goals, outcomes, and performance metrics.
Effectively aligns program staff support and operations with long-term agency goals and expectations.
Provides support to all programs in the Economic Justice Networks. Leads, Co-leads and supports depending on the needs of each of the programs.
Evaluates community organizing practices, and initiatives to ensure quality and effectiveness; makes recommendations for improvement.
Understands how to create, and carry out, logic models, work plans, and evaluations.
Recruits, trains, and retains the involvement of SHCS bilingual members and volunteers for workshops, and works to incorporate economic justice education techniques.
Maintains strong relationships with key SHCS members and volunteers in the Economic Justice Networks Program and supports the engagement of all members through one on one meetings, phone calls, and online outreach for membership events and volunteering.
Maintains strong relationships with our local community partners.
Develops and facilitates economic, gender, and racial justice-oriented portions during orientation, community workshops, and committee meetings.
Leadership Development (35%)
Spearheads the training and professional development of ENJ organizers and program staff to engage in community organizing and mobilization.
Meets one on one with ENJ members and volunteers to develop consciousness around economic justice, our local and national economic systems, building real power, and planning next steps in committee tasks.
Develops and delivers leadership training for committee members in topics such as facilitating effective meetings, what is economic justice, solidarity building and the role of race, social class, and immigration status in the economic system.
Supports policy issue research, the development of policy and/or advocacy strategy, collective actions, and other policy campaign activities
Administrative (10%)

The EJN Organizing Coordinator in the Economic Justice Networks reports to the Economic Justice Program Manager.

COMPENSATION:
This is an exempt, salaried position ranging from $62,000 to $65,000 per year commensurate with experience. Excellent benefits include medical insurance, dental insurance, vision insurance, paid holidays, paid sick time, professional development and more.
