About the role

Here at Ecosulis we are seeking an experienced Ecologist to provide ecological support on a variety of nature recovery projects across the country. From surveying flagship rewilding projects, to drafting environmental improvement plans, rewilding plans and species reintroductions or developing bio-indicators, your skills and knowledge will be pushed to accelerate nature recovery in the UK and beyond.

About you

The ideal candidate will have a background in ecological consultancy and a passion for the natural, possessing a broad knowledge of wildlife and legislation policies and ecological survey techniques. Ideally you will be experienced in UKHab Surveys, have knowledge of the Coreo App and be willing to see the UK at its best.  GIS for large scale projects, coupled with excellent team co-ordination skills are also vital. You will also be an expert communicator, taking initiative to come up with creative solutions. It is important you have a strong client focus.

What qualifications & experience will you require?

It is essential that you have:

• A degree in ecology or a related subject
• CIEEM Membership
• Full UK driving licence & use of own vehicle
• Extensive experience of UKHab surveys

It would be great if you also had experience of:

• Ecological tendering
• Bird survey (breeding and wintering)
• At least 1 Protected Species licence.
• Production of EcIA and HRA reports
• Mitigation licence compilation
• Competent use of GIS mapping
• Delivery of Biodiversity Net Gain and use of the UK habitat classification system

Overview:

• Job type: Full time, fixed Term Contract (September 2024 to February 2025)
• Start date: asap
• Salary: dependent on experience
• Location: The role will be based within the Midlands, but other locations are possible, with travel across the UK to sites, client meetings and management meetings as needed.
