Instill’s mission is to transform teaching, learning and leadership in every classroom on the African continent. We believe that the greatest levers for change in the education system are teachers and school leaders. We have recently been accredited as a higher education institution in South Africa, and are launching Upskill, an Android application to support teachers in their ongoing professional development. We seek to build a team that will change the face of teacher education across the continent. We’re looking for an Early Childhood Development Education (ECDE) Content Designer to join our small and growing team to ensure the success of online learning platforms.

What does the role entail?
You will be working with Instill’s Academic Team to develop remote learning modules for teachers and school leaders to tight deadlines and high quality.
Specifically, you will:
- Conduct and engage in research to ensure our curriculum is aligned with current global best practices in the field
- Ensure all modules are aligned to Instill’s approach to online professional development
- Review modules and share feedback with other designers
- Create online modules, implement feedback, and test the modules on the learning management system
- Ensure all modules are contextually relevant, inclusive, engaging, rigorous, and practical
- Collaborate with team members to iterate on module designs
Selection Criteria:
- You have an undergraduate degree in education, learning or curriculum development or a related field.
- You are highly professional, organised, and reliable
- You have a track record in managing your time effectively to complete multiple projects on time and according to standards
- You are detail-oriented and have a high level of quality
- Passionate about digitally-enabled learning and eager to grow and learn
- You are comfortable working in a high-speed environment and are flexible and can adapt quickly to change
- You have the ability to work effectively in a multicultural and geographically dispersed team
- Significant experience teaching adult learners and/or coaching/developing teachers
- Experience in curricular and/or instructional design (for adult education)
- Experience designing and improving content on a learning management system (LMS) such as Canvas, or a strong willingness to learn
- Experience using, or interest in learning how to use, content collaboration frameworks such as H5P
- The ability to think critically and innovatively about curriculum design and approaches to learning
- Excellent organisation and project management skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
