Overview of the Position

Social Solutions seeks a Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Accessibility (DEIA) Advisor for the anticipated USAID Private Sector Engagement Modernization Institutional Support Contract (PSEMC).

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The Advisor will manage the ongoing delivery of awareness and capacity building activities, online learning modules and inclusive leadership training, and support for inclusive recruitment, hiring and retention, among other key plan actions to institutional support contractors, in accordance with FAR/AIDAR Equal Opportunity and Non-Discrimination rules and regulations. The Advisor will provide actionable insights and professional advice to the Activity’s home office leadership and USAID staff, as well as embed diversity, equity, inclusion and accessibility in the Activity’s workplace and the recruitment, hiring, and retention. The Advisor will support the wider contract implementation process by ensuring a diversity and inclusion lens is placed on the policies, systems, and processes. Oversee the development and implementation of efforts to improve workplace diversity, workplace inclusion, recruitment, retention, sustainability, and accountability. Promote the development and maintenance of effective relationships with USAID, international institutions, and other government agencies. Develop efforts to institutionalize diversity strategies and provide guiding senior staff and supervisors.

Requirements

  • 4+ years’ experience, or a combination of experience and education, in the fields of diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility in a senior capacity
  • Demonstrated success in leading or supporting cross-functional transformational initiatives, supporting the development and implementation of gender equity, diversity, and inclusion strategies, and stewarding collaborative processes across multiple stakeholders
  • Experience in advising and supporting senior management
  • Expertise managing – and coordinating with – teams, including short-term consultants
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to navigate and successfully meet the needs both internal (private sector employer) and external (USG/USAID) client needs
