Job Description - Director, Stakeholder Experience
Direct Reports: Communications Coordinator (full-time), Volunteer Engagement and Training Manager (4 days/week), Volunteer and Association Development Officer (1 day/week)

WHO YOU ARE
Reporting to the CEO, you are a results-oriented, a strategic communicator, and a highly organized leader. In this senior role, you will be responsible for developing and executing Up With Women/Exponenti’elles' marketing and communications and stakeholder experience strategies for individual donors and volunteers.
As we are a growing organization this Director will also have a roll-up-your-sleeves mentality so they can not only lead, but also be directly involved in tactical activities, where needed, as we continue to grow the organization and thus the team within the department.
As a key member of the leadership team, you will collaborate with partnerships, programs, and finance departments to develop strategies and annual plans and budgets to ensure your portfolio of accountabilities grow in order to achieve the goals of the strategic plan. As such you will ensure marketing, communications, and stakeholder engagement strategies are aligned with the organization's strategic priorities.
Additionally, you will provide leadership to direct reports, ensuring effective performance and professional development and foster a collaborative environment and offer ongoing mentoring to enhance team capabilities.

A volunteer community that feels more connected to our cause and to each other through a high quality volunteer experience, connector events and great communication and education programming and experience..
Greater engagement of the public and volunteers as supporters, ambassadors and donors.
Marketing and communication that inspires, educates and builds love, loyalty and awareness.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
Volunteer Experience (35%)
Volunteer Engagement Strategy: Work closely with Director, Partnerships, and the program team to build, execute, and refine volunteer experience strategies that include effective communication materials aimed at recruiting, retaining, and engaging corporate employee and coach volunteers. Create dynamic volunteer stories, testimonials, and content that highlight the impact of volunteerism and encourage continued participation to share with corporate partners, associations, and public audiences.
Conversion Strategy: Develop, test and execute a conversion strategy that turns delighted volunteers into delighted donors.
Volunteer Experience: Work with the Volunteer and Association Development Officer and the Volunteer Engagement and Training Manager to build the volunteer experience strategy, including the volunteer journey, local networking gatherings and learning events.
Accreditation & Training: Oversee and support the training development, delivery and accreditation process for volunteer programs, ensuring that they meet continuing education requirements for partner associations, and funder requirements. Support the development of engaging materials that communicate the value and impact of the volunteer training programs to both external and internal stakeholders.
Partnership Expansion: Collaborate with professional bodies (e.g., ICF, CPA Canada, CMA) to expand the network of volunteer coaches. Develop tailored communication strategies and materials to engage with these organizations and volunteer coaches to foster strong partnerships.
Marketing & Communications (35%)
Marketing: Work with leadership and internal teams to develop and execute comprehensive marketing and communications plans to support outreach and engagement.
Public & Media Relations: Manage proactive media outreach, oversee press releases, and cultivate key media relationships to position Up With Women/Exponenti’elles as a thought leader.
Content Strategy & Creation: Lead the creation and management of content across multiple platforms, including social media, blogs, newsletters, and website. Ensure consistent and engaging messaging.
Brand Development & Public Recognition: Collaborate with Director, Partnerships on the public recognition strategy for corporate partner, including social media campaigns, promotional materials, and cause-marketing initiatives.
Digital Engagement: Develop and implement a robust digital marketing strategy to enhance online engagement. Monitor campaign performance using analytics tools to assess and optimize marketing efforts. Develop the strategy and oversee the regular updating of digital mediums with fresh, relevant content in alignment with the organization’s overall branding and marketing strategies.
Thought Leadership: Position the organization as an industry thought leader through speaking engagements, media interviews, and content creation.
Program Support: Work closely with the programs team to design and create both print and digital materials that support program objectives, client engagement, and external communications.
Annual Report Creation: Lead the development and creation of the organization's annual report as a tool of impact of the organization's work, financial transparency, and stakeholder engagement.
Campaign Calendar: Develop and manage a comprehensive communications calendar to coordinate all organizational communications efforts.
Donor Engagement (20%)
Fundraising Strategy: Lead the development of an annual individual fundraising communications and engagement strategy and plan to grow revenues to support the strategic plan objectives.
Diversification of Revenue: Develop strategies and plans to expand from current donor stakeholders to one that can support growth to meet the long-term needs of the organization, including possible revenue generation through the monetization of our training assets.
Database: Ensure all donors and key information are captured in Salesforce (or NXT) and ensure processes are in place to support consistent practices of donor data management.
Stewardship: Develop outstanding practices to ensure all donors have a delightful experience that feels personalized and reflects their specific interests, aspirations and accountability requirements.
Other: As the organization grows, work to adapt team practice and strategies in order to meet the overall goals and objectives of the strategic plan.
Other Responsibilities (10%)
The remainder of time is left open for any people management, business planning, strategy & implementation that doesn’t already fall within the above accountabilities.
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
REQUIRED:
10+ years Fundraising and/or Business Development experience with a focus on customer/donor relationships in the context of revenue development
10+ years of experience in marketing and communications, with at least 5 years in a leadership role
Demonstrated Excellence in Project Management
Demonstrated success in digital marketing, social media and content strategy
Demonstrated leadership of direct reports in effective execution of annual plans
Strong verbal and written communication skills, with a strategic and creative approach.
Proven experience in collaborating and leading cross-functional teams and managing diverse priorities.
Ability to engage and inspire a wide range of audiences, from volunteers to clients, to donors.
Experience in managing media relations and thought leadership initiatives.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle.
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, and experience with project management tools
PREFERRED:
Skills in graphic design and the creation of visually engaging content, including social media graphics, infographics, and digital/print promotional materials an asset.
Experience with Salesforce or other CRM tools is an asset.
Proficiency in design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) or Canva).
Bilingualism in French and English is an asset.
