Director, Software Engineering

The Position

We are seeking a Director, Software Engineering to join our team and help us achieve our ambitious goals for our business and the planet.

What you will contribute:

• Lead a set of engineering teams that are responsible for building and maintaining our platform data pipelines
• Grow a set of engineering managers that aid in the scale of both our people and our systems
• Collaborate on technical decision making for our data pipeline architecture with our Principal Engineers
• Manage a cross functional set of stakeholders throughout the lifecycle of development from Sales, Product, Implementation, and Executive Leadership

• You will work alongside our engineering managers to mentor, coach, and sponsor our engineering staff
• You will work with our Engineering VPs and CTO to guide technical decision making for the future of our data platform and grid operating system

What you bring to Uplight:

• 6+ years in management positions guiding more than one team
• Experience managing managers and growing a set of next generation leaders
• Experience with data platforms and cloud computing
• Experience within high growth companies that have a fast pace of change and large amounts of ambiguity

Bonus Points:

• Experience with Google Cloud Platform
• Experience with large data sets from complicated sources
• Experience within the energy utility space

Salary Range: $190,000 to $210,000 USD

In accordance with the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the approximate annual base compensation range is listed above. The actual offer, reflecting the total compensation package and benefits, will be determined by a number of factors including the applicant's experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity among our team.
