Job Summary
The Jane Goodall Institute USA seeks a seasoned impact-oriented and relationship-minded nonprofit partnerships professional to manage and drive major strategic partnerships in support of Dr. Goodall and the Institute. The Director, Partnerships will serve as a member of the Communications & Partnerships department (C&P Team) within the Jane Goodall Institute USA and will primarily be responsible for relationship management with the organization’s corporate, institutional, and other NGO partners as well as ensuring high quality delivery of partnership results through collaboration with key members of the C&P Team and other colleagues across the organization.

Responsibilities & Duties
- Developing and managing strong relationships with primary contacts with external corporate, institutional and other partners through timely responsive and empathetic communications.
- Ensure every JGI partnership has established and maintains high quality documentation and reporting of partnership results, timelines, budgets, and clear and transparent roles & responsibilities for all parties involved in collaboration with key C&P Team members, other program leaders, and other departments such as Finance & Accounting
- Maintaining strong internal communications mechanisms and key stakeholder and decisionmaker engagement – especially with the Office of the Founder-Global related Dr. Goodall’s involvement and the Executive Director - in any partnership.
- Tracking and documenting partnership conversations, as well as financial transactions and reporting and other communications deliveries in JGI’s house CRM within Salesforce.
- Manage and/or coordinate with other C&P Team members the creative, editorial and data-oriented development of partnership communications products including reports, presentations, external communications for JGI’s owned, earned, influencer and social media.
Requirements
Qualifications & Skills
- Minimum of seven - ten years of experience managing relationships with external C-suite and other executive leaders in the context of nonprofit partnerships, communications or marketing within the nonprofit industry, preference given for background in conservation.
- Undergraduate degree in nonprofit business management, communications, marketing, or other similar line of study with demonstrated capability for verbal, written and visual communication skills.
- Experience with the implementation of complex strategic partnerships involving programmatic impact delivery and accountability, as well as integrated communications across multiple channels including owned, earned, social and influencer media, on-the-ground events, and community engagement.
- Expert understanding of effective relationship and partnership management – including partnership development, startup, inception, results documentation, and regular reporting; ability to use Salesforce, and similar software tools a plus.
- Demonstrated commitment to working in a culture that prioritizes diversity, inclusion, and equity.

- Excellent written, verbal and visual communications skills, especially as it relates to internal communications among team members, and externally with partners, vendors, influencers and media.
