Position Purpose
A versatile position within a dynamic nonprofit that provides community-inspired, volunteer-powered disaster relief. The position is full-time and is responsible for for promoting positive wellbeing regarding mental and social well-being. This will be a full-time, hands-on role, consulting, training and supporting teams across the world and acting as a point of escalation for mental health crises to outside resources and support services. They will work as appropriate with the Development team to create and carry out fundraising strategies, securing long term support of the Wellness function.

Essential Functions
- Maintain full budgetary and management responsibility of All Hands and Hearts Wellness programs designing and implementing a strategic approach governing the psychological health and resilience of team members, volunteers and the communities we serve.
- Maintain joint responsibility with identified Development team member(s) to plan and implement strategies to identify donor networks and revenue streams to ensure continued funding for the Wellness Program through FY '26 and beyond.
- Research best practices and innovative approaches by proposing/implementing self-initiated projects, tools and resources addressing the organization’s current and anticipated Wellness needs.
- As appropriate, supports the emotional health of team members, and introduces methods and strategies to enhance wellbeing and mitigate workplace stressors.
- Manages all aspects of the Behavior Watchlist Program including regularly scheduled trainings along with tracking and reporting of flagged behaviors and incidents negatively impacting team cohesion or effectiveness.
- Acts as a consultant or coach for staff and leaders dealing with disruptive or concerning volunteer behaviors. Intercedes, as appropriate, to ensure effective implementation of Wellness protocols and initiatives.
- Designs and delivers professional development curriculum promoting emotional health/wellbeing. This includes Wellness related LMS and co assemble courses, instructor led learning labs and facilitated in person and on-line training.
- Maintains timely Wellness check-ins and briefings with current and newly deployed DART and response/recovery teams to ensure they’re equipped with available Wellbeing resources, knowledge and tools.
- Acts promptly to intervene during destabilizing incidents or events by reaching out to the appropriate program leaders to help assess and properly respond to emergent Wellness related issues.
- Develops and promotes organizational engagement initiatives to offset isolating effects of remote work, increasing connectedness within and between All Hands and Hearts departments and teams.
- Serves as the organizational champion/spokesperson for the Wellbeing function, creating program momentum and ensuring Wellbeing initiatives and resources are prioritized and well communicated.
- Ensures reporting and compliance requirements are met with external donors, partners, and other interested parties
- Oversees management of counseling support services provided by BetterHelp and independent contract clinicians including all invoice approval and review.
- Coordinate with fellow People Team members to publish the monthly People Update and provide Wellness content and advice supporting stress reduction and self-care.

- We have decided to relax the requirement for Covid-19 vaccination for on program staff. While we still strongly recommend Covid-19 vaccination, along with other standard and travel immunizations as recommended by the CDC and WHO, Covid-19 vacation will no longer be required.
Position Requirements
- Education Bachelor’s Degree in Organizational Psychology, Social Work or related field
- Related Experience 3+ years Well Being or human services experience preferred. Demonstrated knowledge of Team Effectiveness competencies/methods and change management principles. Strong project management and influencing skills and the ability to work collaboratively across and within teams. Experience handling confidential information and highly developed listening and interpersonal skills. The ability to communicate clearly in written and verbal form. Experience responding to critical incidents and intervening in stressful workplace situations between distressed parties and/or the teams tasked with supporting them. Experience with humanitarian operations is a plus, along with demonstrated interest in working in the non-profit space. We will positively consider previous experience working for All Hands and Hearts or other disaster response organizations.
- Special Competencies/Certifications Prior fundraising experience and/or familiarity with charitable funding networks is a strong plus Solid skills in the design and interpretation of survey metrics and qualitative/quantitative data analysis, Good written and oral communication skills and confident working with Google Workspace, particularly Google Docs and Google Sheets; and Microsoft Office. Exposure or familiarity with AI platforms is a plus Applicants need to be well organized and have a flexible approach to managing multiple tasks and prioritizing them appropriately. The individual is able to manage a large workload and perform in a fast-paced environment.

Compensation & Benefits
- Compensation Typical starting salary is $55,000-$61,250 USD based on skills and experience, and up to $67,500 for highly qualified candidates.
