What We’re Looking For:
Exponent Partners is seeking an experienced Director of Sales to lead our sales team of Account Executives. This position at Exponent Partners is a leader within the Business Development team and works closely with other members of the Business Development team, as well as working closely with internal stakeholders in Finance, Client Services, and Operations. This position is responsible for achieving overall global pipeline and sales goals while also acting as a consultative leader and coach guiding Account Executives toward optimal success in attaining and surpassing quota in their territories.
Reporting to the Chief Revenue Officer, the Director of Sales is the key role that oversees execution of the entire lead-to-book cycle, and they are focused closely on the sales pipeline and secured bookings for the company. This is a highly accountable and influential position, and the ideal candidate will excel at leading and developing a team, while working with multiple other teams across the organization to ensure alignment on sales strategy and execution. The ideal candidate has a solutions and/or technology background along with services sales experience, preferably within Salesforce and related products, has succeeded in externally facing client sales, and has demonstrated success when holding individual contributors accountable toward performance goals.
What Qualifications We Need:
- 7+ years of consultative solution selling experience positioning and selling and/or implementing complex technology and/or software solutions.
- 2+ years of experience leading teams or operating as a team lead.
- Proven ability to cultivate a consistent pipeline and meet quarterly quotas by managing sales opportunities that vary from basic projects to complex RFP responses.
- History of working with nonprofit organizations and/or educational institutions
- Experience with Salesforce and a variety of 3rd party applications, either as a sales end-user or as an admin.
- Superior communication skills with the ability to actively listen before proposing clear, compelling, and value-focused solutions.
- Excellent time-management skills with the discipline to handle multiple tasks and adapt quickly to change in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience working in diverse communities and across social, economic, and cultural differences.
- Demonstrated aptitude for using data and analytics in decision making.
- Ability to foster collaboration and successfully interact internally across departments and positions, and externally with clients, partners, and stakeholders.
- Salesforce experience required; Google business apps experience preferred.
- Willingness to travel.
What You Will Be Doing:
Sales Success
- Attain quarterly sales bookings targets. Ensure sufficiency of pipeline and proposal development for future quarters’ bookings targets.
- Accountable for broad execution of the complete sales cycle from prospecting and developing sufficient pipeline, to prospective client engagement in which high-value solutions and compelling proposals are developed quickly and responsively, ending in mutually beneficial negotiations and efficiently closed deals.
Sales Management
- Manage the entire sales pipeline and bookings forecast, ensuring the sales team’s delivery against key performance metrics, with a strong emphasis on new business sales whilst expanding existing accounts.
- Attain company revenue targets by ensuring cumulative team performance against company sales booking targets.
- Coach and guide prospecting efforts and relationship development across all territories in order to seed a robust future sales pipeline.
- Coordinate targeted outbound prospecting and pipeline development efforts with Marketing and Business Development Representatives(s).
- Ensure proper execution of the end-to-end sales process through engagement of appropriate resources such as Solution Engineering, Professional Services, executives, and our go-to-market partners.
- Develop and edit professional, customized written proposals and presentations for use and delivery by Account Executives.
- Delivery accurate weekly, monthly and quarterly forecasting.
- Travel as required to prospects, customers, or marketing events (estimated 25% travel).
Marketing and Events
- Support Exponent Partners Marketing team product marketing initiatives.
- Work with sales and marketing teammates to establish beneficial channels for partner engagement including Salesforce events and nonprofit sector conferences.
- Help identify and support key event sponsorships, produce session submissions, presentations, and conduct post-event follow-up including ROI calculation using Salesforce campaigns.
- Participate in events (virtual and/or in-person), representing Exponent Partners to maintain brand awareness, present product demonstrations, and/or share customer success stories.

Hiring Salary Range:
Base salary range of $120,000/year to $125,000/year depending on experience plus commission with an OTE target range of $200,000 - $225,000 annually.
