Director of Learning Experience: Micro Credentials & Upskill

Instill Education is on a mission to transform teaching, learning, and leadership in every classroom on the African continent. We believe that our teachers and school leaders are the greatest levers for change in the education system. We recently became an accredited higher education institution in South Africa and launched a game-changing mobile app that offers self-paced, bite-sized modules to help teachers in their professional development journey. More than 50,000 teachers in South Africa, Ghana, Kenya, and Nigeria have already enrolled in our professional development modules and joined a pan-African community of peers and experts who provide support and feedback along the way.

We are hiring a Director of Learning Experience for Micro Credentialing & Upskill responsible for creating and developing learning experiences that are engaging, effective, and tailored to the needs of our students.

What does the role entail?

As the Dir. of Learning Experience: Micro-credentials & Upskill you will be responsible for working with lecturers and professors to develop and implement teacher education programmes aimed at upskilling unqualified teachers and providing professional development for qualified teachers and school leaders to evaluate instructional effectiveness.

More specifically you will;

• Develop and implement programmes and qualifications to address country-wide instructional development goals and priorities
• Provide professional development to teaching faculty and content designers
• Monitor and evaluate the instructional effectiveness of various programmes and adjust according to the data and feedback received
• Collaborate with stakeholders to support programme roll-out across both Micro credential programs and professional development initiatives
• Advocate for students and teachers at all levels
• Support the creation of a pleasant student environment and experience

Selection Criteria:

• Master's degree in education (PhD preferred)
• 5+ years of experience in a school leadership role
• Strong understanding of instructional leadership theory and practice
• Experience with data-driven decision making
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Excellent student management skills

Anticipated start date: January 1st, 2024

Location: Accra, Ghana / remote by exception (with 25%+ travel)
