As a key member of the Waukesha BU Finance Leadership Team, the Director of Accounting will report directly to the BU CFO, with a dotted line to the VP Group Accounting of the INNIO Group and be responsible for the preparation of financial statements and statutory reporting requirements as well as the coordination of audits for high-volume and high-complexity INNIO Legal Entities (trading and/ or holding entities). He/she will develop and engage a high performing team while driving continuous improvement and focusing on results.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversee the accounting functions at the Waukesha and Welland locations
- Responsible for consolidating the financial statements of all entities under the BU, including managing intercompany transactions, and working with the Tax group on transfer pricing
- Prepare Annual Financial Statements compliant with local accounting, IFRS and tax policies
- Prepare and performs complex Manual Journal Entries (e. g. Accruals, Taxes, FX, Investments and Divestments)
- Help with cash flow forecasting and drive rigor of working capital metrics to deliver key business cash flow KPIs
- Review Account Reconciliations consistent with INNIO’s Account Reconciliation Policy
- Use technical knowledge to enhance existing accounting processes and general accounting activities and is able to interact actively within own team and other related teams to design new work streams
- Train and guide the organization on any changes to accounting guidance
- Manage the relationship with external auditors and collaborates with the broader finance team in driving completion of audit requirements
- Lead Balance Sheet reviews, identifies risks, develops risk mitigation actions and proactively communicates to INNIO Accounting and Tax Leadership
- Key contact for INNIO HQ Group initiatives related to managed entities (e.g., Equity/ Debt Structuring, Investments Accounting, Dividend Distribution)
- Identify simplification and automation opportunities and drives process improvements compliant with local regulations
- Work with IT on system improvements to streamline and improve the accounting function
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS
- BS in Finance, Accounting or Business; MS or MBA preferred;
- CPA required
- Advanced Knowledge in IFRS, US GAAP and tax
- Minimum 10 years of experience in a mid to large public accounting firm, or Minimum 15 years of mixed public and private experience with a multinational, manufacturing company
- Strong audit background; experience working in a multi-cultural, international setting with offshore locations
- Strong Oracle experience a plus, with advanced skills in Excel; demonstrated experience building databases and analyzing data, creating standard reports
- Experience building engaged and high performing teams – direct reports, peers and other team members
- Legally authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship
