Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic individual to join our team as the Director of Master Data Management. You will play a pivotal part in shaping our data strategy, ensuring its effective application, and driving consistency and efficiency throughout our organization and with our key business partners. As the Director, you will establish a clear vision and direction, providing hands-on leadership while fostering strong stakeholder relationships across the business.
Essential Functions
Advanced Data Management and Analytics
- Own all aspects of master data, including entry, definition, and governance.
- Establish, build, and oversee the master data domains, ensuring adherence to standards, best practices, and innovative automation techniques.
- Develop metrics to measure the impact of master data activities, demonstrating key benefits and outcomes associated with master data management.
- Establish and communicate best practices for master data management, encompassing people, processes, and technology.
- Drive operational excellence with a continued focus on master data, leveraging new technologies to optimize data value.
Cross-Functional Operations
- Collaborate with business functions and stakeholders to generate ideas and drive necessary changes related to master data and governance.
- Drive harmonization of relevant master data processes across the organization, ensuring a common and consistent view across all business functions.
- Define, build, and lead a team of internal data stewards to design and implement master data processes and solutions, collaborating closely with the Analytics and Technology teams.
- Champion a culture of data accuracy adoption within the organization, ensuring that master data management assets are well-understood, accessible, and utilized.
Security
- Comply with Shorelight Written Information Security Policy, and all other Shorelight Information Security Policies and Procedures
- Take responsibility for any Shorelight assets assigned to you
- Promptly report any security events, incidents, or weaknesses to Shorelight Security
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Minimum of 7+ years of experience in data management, with at least 3 years in a role focused on MDM.
- Proven track record of successfully leading MDM initiatives in large, complex organizations.
- Deep understanding of MDM concepts, principles, and best practices.
- Expertise in MDM tools and technologies, such as Informatica MDM or similar platforms.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- Strong leadership and team-building skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate team members to achieve high performance.
- Solid understanding of data governance, data quality management, and related disciplines.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Business, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Experience with regulatory compliance requirements related to data management (e.g., GDPR, CCPA).
- Certification in MDM or related areas (e.g., CDMP, DAMA).
