Digital Membership and Advocacy Generalist- Remote Band B

If so, then this is the position for you.  We are looking for a Digital Generalist who will support all aspects of our digital advocacy and fundraising program and manage our lobby reporting and finance processes.

We want you to succeed and we want to pay you a competitive wage that is in line with your experience. The range for this full-time remote position is $58,000-$62,000. Offers are determined based on relevant skills and experience required for the position.

Who You Are:

  • Attention to detail: Notice and fix errors that others might overlook. Acknowledge mistakes and turn them into learning opportunities, and have a track record of leaving things better than you found them. Track deadlines and approvals for Membership surveys, fundraisers, and SMS, and occasionally load emails and broadcast SMS. Complete all check requests for the Digital Membership team. Manage lobby reporting and expense allocation process for the team.

  • Write compelling digital advocacy and fundraising content: Draft content for email advocacy, fundraisers, joint actions, blogs and new projects. Organize and share information effectively with our members. Motivate people to take action through digital communications. Learn, internalize, and incorporate our “voice” across platforms. Adaptable to different types of communication (web, email, SMS/advocacy, fundraising, cultivation/etc.)

  • Manage a high volume of work with efficiency: Create a system for keeping tasks from slipping through the cracks. Able to juggle competing demands and prioritize without sacrificing quality. Plan backwards to make deadlines. Ask for help when needed

  • Flexible: Able and willing to jump in to help teammates wherever it’s needed. Comfortable in a role where responsibilities might look different every day.

  • Knowledge and familiarity with REI principles: Recognize ways that race and other identities intersect in the work, especially with communities we serve. Comfortable talking about identities such as race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, class, ability, or gender in plain, specific terms. Understands the historical context for racial inequity and its present-day implications.

Required qualifications:

  • 2-4 years’ experience in marketing, communications, fundraising, administration, or any “wears many hats” role in a nonprofit.
  • Excel skills: Proficiency with pivot tables, formulas, and manipulating files containing thousands of lines of data.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Proactively advances equity outcomes: Identifies decisions, policies, or practices that have disparate impacts based on identity. Is driven to make changes in systems and practices to operationalize equity.
  • Technical aptitude: Quickly learns new tools and technical systems. Experience with Engaging Networks is a plus.
  • Familiarity with nonprofit compliance and lobby reporting.
  • Associate’s degree or equivalent experience.
