Digital Marketing Director, Core Communications
About the Program:
Communications and marketing are crucial to WRI’s ability to bring about rapid, systemic changes to the health of society and the planet. The WRI Core Communications team works to expand WRI’s reach, reputation, and impact, and oversees strategy and outreach for the Institute in support of WRI leadership, programs, centers and international offices.
Job Highlight: Reporting to the Global Director of Digital Communications, you will be responsible for the strategy and execution of WRI’s digital marketing initiatives. Using both your creativity and technical expertise, you will take a hands-on approach to building our capacity to effectively utilize marketing tactics and technologies to increase our awareness among and engagement with new and existing audiences, as well as cultivate a base of individual supporters through online channels.
You will manage a small team of digital marketing professionals, and additionally be supported by team members from the Core Communications team, various staff across WRI, as well as external vendors.
What you will do: Strategy and steering (25%)
Implementation and execution (50% time)
Lead the implementation of digital marketing initiatives and campaigns in accordance with the organization’s strategy.
Ensure that best practices and standards are utilized, and that marketing technology and digital tracking systems are functioning properly to support campaigns and deliver accurate reporting results.
Oversee marketing research activities and drive experimental initiatives to enhance the performance of our digital marketing campaigns.
Manage the digital marketing budget to ensure maximum cost-efficiency and return on investment.
Team management and organizational development (25% time)
What you will need:
Education: You have a completed Bachelor's degree; Master’s degree preferred.
Experience: You have a minimum of 10 years full-time relevant work experience and 5 years full-time supervisory experience in digital marketing and strategy – including campaign planning, social media and content marketing, email/direct marketing, SEO/SEM, marketing automation, and e-commerce/fundraising.
Languages: Verbal and written English fluency required.
Requirements: Existing work authorization is required where this position is based. WRI is unable to authorize visa work authorization.
Potential Salary: Salary is commensurate with experience and other compensable factors. WRI offers a competitive remuneration and benefits package.
