Summary of role

The Near East Foundation (NEF) is looking for Digital Data Officer to provide support and maintenance of cloud-based platforms. NEF operates several cloud-based platforms to enable the organization either to deliver its services or to support its internal operation. This includes bespoke cloud-based platforms such as a remote training platform that uses familiar mobile apps (www.sirajdigital.com), a lending management system (www.sirajfinance.org), and business-to-business platform. It also includes platforms built on established cloud-based service providers, such as Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E) Salesforce app, data visualisation on Google Data Studio, photo and video verification platform TruePic, and data collection tools Akvo Flow/KoBo Toolbox.

The position will primarily support the maintenance, administration, and further integration and development of NEF’s salesforce-based apps as well as supporting colleagues with setting up and maintaining data visualization services using Google Data Studio and project database templates on Google Sheets. The position will also oversee external developers that provide maintenance and feature upgrades for the Foundation’s bespoke cloud-based platforms. The role will provide technical leadership and oversight of solution design and implementation of all staff and suppliers that contribute directly to the activity.

What you will do

• General maintenance for NEF’s cloud-based platforms that support the delivery or monitoring of activities
• Support day-to-day administration of M&E Salesforce app, data management, supporting teams to collect, access and utilise Salesforce data
• Support colleagues with setting up and maintaining data visualization services using Google Data Studio
• Support colleagues with setting up and maintaining collaboratively designed project database templates on Google Sheets
• Support integration across multiple cloud-based platforms
• Oversee external developers that provide maintenance and feature upgrades for the Foundation’s bespoke cloud-based platforms
• Train new and existing staff and support them to use the platform
• Manage user access to the platforms
• Support data aggregation, disaggregation, cleaning, and reporting
• Support the development, documentation and dissemination of data-driven lessons learned
• Publishing project data on the International Aid Transparency Initiative (IATI) datastore
• Handle sensitive data and help to ensure that appropriate protocols are being followed

Basic Qualifications

• Experience in monitoring and evaluation solutions including digital survey tools, data cleaning, and data analysis
• Experience in developing data visualisation solutions using Google Data Studio or similar apps
• Experience in collaborative database design and maintenance with noted expertise in Google Sheets or similar apps
• Demonstrated experience in maintaining applications that integrate into cloud-based platforms as a service such as Salesforce.com

Desirable experience

• Experience in programmable communication tools using web services such as Twilio
• Experience in monitoring and evaluation processes in development or humanitarian contexts
• Experience in data management procedures and optimization
• Experience in developing APIs to support integration across platforms
• Familiarity with Amazon Web Services
• Experience in international development
• French or Arabic language is plus
