This role reports directly to the Manager, Software Design and Development, and is responsible for the design, development, testing, maintenance, and optimisation of a number of Infoxchange’s client facing applications and the platform services that supports many of Infoxchange’s technology solutions.

About the role

In this role, you will collaborate with a broad range of stakeholders to support product enhancement and maintenance and reliable product delivery schedules. You will manage and prioritise the work in your team to best deliver on assigned project deliverables and initiatives. You will also provide input into, and review application architecture and design decisions as required. It is expected that you will self-manage the ratio of non-technical and technical work based on priorities.

As a Team Lead, a­ focus of your role will be to provide both team and technical leadership. You will support and empower your team members to deliver to the best of their capabilities using techniques ranging from one-on-one discussions, regular performance feedback, career development and guidance, coaching and mentoring.

You will:

• Lead the organisation of the Service Directory and Search Development Team and management of team members through appropriate processes and techniques (including establishing trust, communicating openly and honestly, providing regular constructive feedback, and establishing a framework for professional progression)
• Lead the development and maintenance of all supported applications and services that your Service Directory Development Team is responsible for.
• Prioritise and assign appropriate tasks to team members.
• Collaborate closely with members of other Vic Development Team Leads to improve on a common and shared set of development processes and align on best development practices.
• Collaborate closely with members of other Technical Services teams and Product Managers to successfully design, develop, maintain, and support solutions to complex problems
• Strengthen processes for conducting code reviews and optimising applications for maximum security, reliability, and scalability
• Foster a culture of cross-skilling of team members through experimenting, learning, and growing together
• Assist in the creation and continuous improvement of a set of engineering principles that guides the manner in which applications are developed, delivered, maintained, and supported

About you

To succeed in this role at Infoxchange, you will demonstrate:

• Experience leading a team of software developers through the use of clear objectives, goals, and expectations
• Experience deploying and delivering services on AWS
• Experience working on scalable SaaS and mobile applications or frontends
• Strong experience with Python (Django)
• Experience in web development, preferably with ReactJS or Vue
• Experience with Database: Postgres, RDBMS
• Experience with developer toolchains such as GitHub, GitHub Actions, AWS Pipeline, CodeBuild.
• Experience with Unit testing, TDD, and BDD
• Experience building scalable, high-performing, and secure REST APIs
• Good knowledge of cloud-native application architectures and design patterns
• Experience with containerised solutions and/or serverless frameworks
• Understanding of key software development and DevOps concepts, such as agile development, object-oriented design, microservices/right-sized services, automation, and CI/CD
• Must have valid full working rights in Australia
