NRDC is seeking a Development Manager to work with the Western Region Major Gifts team in our San Francisco or Santa Monica offices.
Position Summary
The full-time Development Manager position will report to the Senior Director of National Major Gifts and support the Western Major Gifts team at NRDC. The position can be located near NRDC’s Santa Monica or San Francisco offices where our Western Region team members are based. NRDC currently supports a hybrid remote and in-office work environment.
The Manager will assist the Major Gifts team in a wide variety of projects and fundraising initiatives. These tasks will include the strategic development and execution of high-end donor salons including on-site support, project management of the team’s moves management system, ensuring data integrity in database entries, development of external donor communications such as emails, drafting donor correspondence for senior major gifts staff, and the creation of internal planning documents such as talking points, memos, donor research and briefings. The Manager will work closely with Development colleagues in Donor Relations, Special Events, Prospect Research, Donor Systems, and the NRDC Action Fund
It will be critical for the Development Manager to exercise effective project management throughout their work, ensuring successful outcomes and maintaining collegial relationships in a fast-paced environment. They will build strong working relationships with coworkers across the institution, identifying and fostering relationships with decision makers and their support staff to advance shared objectives. NRDC is looking for a proactive and self-motivated Manager who is capable of tracking and supporting actions with a broader strategy and timeline in mind. The ideal person for this role also has a personal interest in or working knowledge of major gifts fundraising and environmental and policy issues.

We offer competitive salaries, excellent benefits, and a supportive working environment. Salary is based on a nonprofit scale and is commensurate with skills and experience. Internal equity will be reviewed and considered to determine a final offer. For this position, the salary range is $100,000 to $107,000.
