Data Management Coordinator - Helpline

ChildFund Papua New Guinea is registered local NGO and – an independent and non-religious international development organisation that works to reduce poverty for children in developing communities.

PURPOSE OF THE POSITION

The Data Management Coordinator will be responsible for supporting the effective management of the Helpline Project’s data systems, including monitoring, evaluation, and learning (MEL) functions. This role will involve developing and maintaining project databases, overseeing accurate data collection and analysis, and facilitating learning activities. The coordinator will help ensure data quality, accountability, and the efficient use of information to inform program decisions and improve the overall performance and impact of the Helpline Project.

KEY DUTIES

  • Maintain and regularly update an accessible, efficient, and secure data storage and records management system for the project.· Conduct data sourcing, cleaning, and analysis in coordination with the MEL Manager and Helpline team to ensure accuracy and usability.· Produce and disseminate timely and accurate reports to the Helpline team, national and provincial government bodies, and provincial FSVAC Committees, as directed by the Helpline Project Manager.· Assist with the design, implementation, and analysis of feedback surveys for survivors of gender-based violence (GBV) to inform service improvement.· Deliver training and coaching to staff on data collection, online harm tracking, and data cleaning procedures.· Ensure full compliance with ChildFund’s policies, procedures, and standards in all data management activities.

  • Gather and review reports from mobile service providers and relevant agencies to inform and enhance helpline operations and data management.

  • Identify gaps in data collection related to online harm reporting and coordinate updates to the database, documentation, and standard operating procedures.

  • Support the development, review, and submission of key publications such as service provider directories, annual reports, and other relevant materials.

  • Prepare data summaries and visual presentations for donors, government agencies, and key stakeholders to support reporting and advocacy.

  • Support efficient and timely data recording (and storage) by telephone counsellors in client management system.

  • Remain alert and responsive to any child safeguarding or sexual exploitation, abuse, or harassment (SEAH) risks. Promote strong safeguarding practices, and conduct yourself in a manner consistent with these policies.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • Tertiary qualifications in MEL and Statistics or equivalent.

  • Solid understanding of monitoring, evaluation and learning concepts.

  • Excellent work ethic (including attendance, timekeeping, meeting deadlines, respect for others and willingness to share information)

  • Strong experience in data analysis (both quantitative and qualitative, its communication in the written form, and data management.

  • 3 years’ experience in Information Management, Community Development, GBV and protection or similar roles with some project management experience, preferably with the international development/NGO sector.

DESIRABLE

  • Experience in working with NGOs in cross-cultural setting.· Proficiently using logical framework methodologies.

  • Experience using Salesforce

  • Proficiently using all aspects of the project management cycle.

  • Ability to design MEL tools, surveys and evaluations.

Other Information: Appointment to this position is dependent upon successful completion of criminal background and reference checks.
