The role: YSI, A Xylem Brand, seeks to hire a Janitor team member to be responsible for onsite cleaning of buildings and campus. The position will provide assistance to the facilities maintenance team. Will be expected to work will the safety coordinator to stay in compliance with all aspects of health and safety.

Job Specifications and Work Performed:

• Responsible for campus wide cleaning of floors, walls, restrooms, glass walls, furniture, etc...
• Responsible for removing all trash & recyclables
• Work with the YSI safety coordinator in compliance with all aspects of health and safety.
• Ability to communicate regularly with team members and supervisors.
• Knowledge in janitorial processes and procedures.
• Ability to be productive in an unstructured environment
• Self-starter – takes initiative to create and implement plans
• Detail and team oriented.
• Professional image projection to customers and vendors
• Knowledge of safe work practices

Experience & Academic Requirements

• High School/trade school diploma or GED required
• 3+ years’ experience in janitorial
• Experience with floor care and maintenance (strip and wax of tiles) is a plus

Work Conditions & Physical Demands

• Work Schedule – 7 AM - 3:30 PM, Mon-Fri
• Forty-hour week with moderate overtime requirements to meet business needs
• Must be able to lift 40 lbs. from floor to waist level.
• General production/assembly & office environment
• Required to walk, move and bend within buildings as necessary and feel comfortable in general production/assembly & office environment
