Cultural Resources Technician

SWCA Environmental Consultants is expanding their team and looking for dynamic individuals who are following their passion in delivering the highest-quality project work. SWCA's San Antonio, TX , Austin, TX and Arlington, TX offices offer a unique work environment and a diversified client-base, including generation / renewables, transportation, water infrastructure, oil and gas, and land development. Your role will be to assist the crew chiefs and field directors on a variety of projects throughout Central and South Texas, Oklahoma, and Arkansas (HR Title = Cultural Resources Technician).

Pay starts at $18.75 an hour and depends on experience.

Work schedule would be six-days on, one day off (10-hour days). Per diem, housing, and company vehicles provided. Mileage reimbursement is provided for work-related use of personal vehicles.

Positions will be filled as soon as qualified applicants are identified.

What you will accomplish

• Conduct archaeological fieldwork including monitoring, survey, testing, and data recovery.
• Assist with mapping responsibilities in the field, including collection of GPS data using Trimble units.

Experience and qualifications for success

• A Bachelor’s Degree in anthropology, archaeology, or a closely related field.
• An accredited Field School Certification.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Field experience with a wide range of field methodologies, including archaeological survey, testing, excavation, methodology and monitoring.
• Survey 123 or Arc Collector software experience.

Additional Information:

• Current valid driver’s license and ability to pass a motor vehicle record screening.
• Ability to travel to a location, walk and conduct fieldwork for long hours, sometimes in inclement weather (including extreme heat and humidity), and rugged terrain
• Ability to carry equipment and supplies weighing up to 40 pounds.
• Ability to work variable fieldwork schedules including 6 on /1 off and 10 on /4 off
