PSI Myanmar was founded in 1995 to focus on HIV prevention and quickly expanded into reproductive health and treatment for sexually transmitted infections. In 2001, malaria prevention products were added to its portfolio, which has now grown to include pneumonia, diarrhea and malaria treatment. PSI Myanmar now coordinates a dynamic portfolio including maternal and child health, malaria, HIV, TB, Emergency Operating Centers, strategic purchasing of essential primary care services, and more. The estimated 2023 budget ceiling for PSI Myanmar is approximately USD 9M, with award responsibility across existing funding streams with Global Fund, USAID, the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, etc.
With the recent deconsolidation and localization of two technical implementing branches, PSI Myanmar serves an essential strategic role in partnership coordination and private sector engagement; providing insight gathering and application for improved consumer-centered programming, digital health and monitoring, and adaptive implementation and learning.
