The role
We are looking for a Corporate Sales Trader to join the Greenfuels desk at Vertis, which focuses on projects and certificates aiming to reduce the impact of fuels for transport on the environment.
A high-energy and passionate individuals with a few years of quality sales experience to be in direct contact with our clients. While it is highly advantageous to have previous front-office experience in any environmental commodities markets (eg. EU ETS, energy & commodity markets, VERs, etc.) it is not a strict requirement as long as you are willing to invest time and energy to learn.

More About The Role And Core Responsibilities
- Understand client needs and translate them into effective solutions and trading opportunities
- Develop a deep understanding of the market, including buyers, sellers and competitors
- Build and maintain a portfolio of new customers and counterparts active on the oil & gas and fuels certificates markets (bio-tickets, UERs, etc.), prioritize your leads and turn them into clients and transactions
- Be the first point of contact for your clients. Conduct day-to-day sales initiatives and provide them with essential market intelligence-analysis to support pricing, trading and risk mitigation strategies
- Be updated on European regulation
- Take initial contacts through to financial close
- Represent Vertis and build our brand on the market through conferences and PR initiatives
We believe you'll be great for this role if you...
- +2 years of sales or account management experience ideally within energy and/or environmental commodities markets (eg. EU ETS or Energy markets - Gas, Electricity trading etc.)
- Experience in one of these sectors: fuel markets, energy, heavy industry, renewables, oil & Gas, consulting or sales/trading.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong relationships with clients and stakeholders, and strong desire to do sales
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, a team player
- Ambitious spirit, proactive personality, and a commercial mind-set. Prior entrepreneurial experience is a plus
- Strong attention to detail, good with numbers and Excel
- Relevant degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Law with Environmental focus/angle where possible
- Fluent English and one of the following languages: French, Portuguese, German, or Dutch.
