Founded in 1977, the Jane Goodall Institute (JGI) USA is an international non-governmental organization that continues Dr. Jane Goodall’s pioneering animal research and global conservation mission. The breadth of the Jane Goodall Institute’s work reflects Dr. Goodall’s personal philosophy that the survival of all species depends upon collaboration, community, and valuing individuals’ contributions.
The Coordinator, JGI Office of the Founder – Global is a key member of the Jane Goodall Institute USA team. This fast-paced role wears multiple hats and handles a wide-range of projects, initiatives, and tasks. This position will support the daily administrative activities of the Office of the Founder – Global (OOF – G) and Dr. Jane Goodall’s global tour on and off the road, both in person and remotely. This role also involves interacting with Jane Goodall Institutes and other stakeholders internationally. The incumbent will report to the Vice President, Outreach, (OOF-G) and Vice President and Assistant to Dr. Jane Goodall, (OOF-G)

The successful candidate will maintain high standards of confidentiality, and display sound judgment, discretion, and diplomacy. The role requires a resourceful, proactive, self-starter who demonstrates the following:
Commitment to excellence through superior written, oral, and interpersonal (communication) skills
Attention to detail with strong planning, organizational, problem solving, project management, time management skills and the ability to multi-task and work effectively under pressure
A roll-up-your-sleeves approach
Communications/media experience preferred with good aptitude for administrative tasks, (e.g., working on contracts).
High energy and flexibility are essential as is the ability to travel on an intense schedule domestically and be comfortable handling multiple pieces of heavy luggage.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite
Alignment to the organization’s mission of “inspiring hope through action” through excellent communication and administrative support
Sense of humor a big plus
College degree preferred.
