KEY DUTIES
1. Technical Competence building to key stakeholders:
- Develop training modules, tools, and curriculums on GEDSI aspects using sector-wide approach with technical guidance from GEDSI Advisor in Sydney.
- Conduct capacity need assessment and organisational behaviour assessment of ChildFund Cambodia’s program team and NGO partner organisations.
2. Partnership and relationship management:
- Ensure partners could deliver the project effectively, efficiency and timely related to GEDSI implementation.
- Organise project orientations and refresher to partner to help them understand the project, expectation, and approach on GEDSI aspects as agreed in the proposals.
3. Compliance management:
- Support and guide to partner organisations to strictly follow the agreed principles, policies, and procedures of GEDSI aspects in line with grant funding requirements.
- Monitor and assess the effectiveness of the compliance mechanism of the partner organisations on key and non-negotiable procedures related to GEDSI aspects.
4. Project quality:
- Support P&C staff in Cambodia office to strengthen organisational practices on diversity, equity, and inclusion, including capacity building support or inputs to CO policy revision or creation.
- Review any GEDSI guidance, templates and tools produced by ChildFund Australia to ensure their contextualised relevance to Cambodia, and proof-read any externally-sourced translations of the documents. Work with program team to socialise core messaging on GEDSI in Khmer.
5. Learning and sharing:
- Support partner organisation to establish a well functional M&E system and data management.
- Participate in any GEDSI Focal Point meetings, trainings, workshops as required.
6. Networking and Collaboration:
- Keep an up-to-date information on new opportunities, challenges, risks, and changes which may impact and effect our working on GEDSI aspects.
- Promote GEDSI and participation of children and all stakeholders through all aspects of work and behaviour.
7. GEDSI focused Education Project in Kampong Trabeak district to support 11 Target schools:
- Conduct need assessment of 11 schools on GEDSI aspects in line of the GEDSI focused SIP.
- Develop training modules and curriculums on GEDSI conceptual framework in Education with technical guidance from Sydney Based GEDSI Advisor.
- Coordinate and/or facilitate capacity strengthening and reflection-learning sessions for target schools on GEDSI integrated programming.
- Support and guide 11 target schools to strictly follow the mutually agreed principles, policies, and procedures on GEDSI aspects in line of the grant funding requirements.
- Ensure 11 target schools have established a well-functioning system on key procedures demonstrating effective organisational behaviour on GEDSI aspects.
SPECIFIC ROLES:
- 70% time - as a GEDSI Coordinator to cover all sectors, partners and projects including a mini project funded through ANCP for 02 partners NGOs to advance the GEDSI aspects in existing and future projects.
- 30% time – as a focal person for the new GEDSI focused education Project in Kampong Trabeak District in Prey Veng covering 11 target schools.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor / Post graduate degree in Education, child protection, development, or another related field;
- 2-3 years practical Experience and knowledge of GEDSI aspects; in both development and/or disaster risk reduction and climate change adaptation contexts and works as additional asset;
- Good English language knowledge, both writing and speaking;
- Experience of working in partnership with LNGOs, Schools, communes, and other key government stakeholders;
- Experience of leading independent capacity building support using latest mentoring and coaching techniques to partner CSOs;
- Experience working with children, and youths in rural community,
- Experience in writing case study and project progress report; and process-documentation;
- A highly self-motivated, open-minded, results-based and committed person with a strong interest in learning.
Remain alert and responsive to any child safeguarding or sexual exploitation, abuse, or harassment (SEAH) risks, acquire relevant knowledge and skills to promote strong safeguarding practices, understand the child safeguarding and PSEAH policy and procedures, and conduct yourself consistent with those policies.
