🇺🇸 Milford, MA, US 📝 FULL-TIME 🎯 MANAGER SUPERVISOR

Ambri, an energy startup commercializing an innovative battery technology first developed at MIT, is seeking its first Controller.

Position Overview

As an astute accounting professional and proactive business partner, the successful candidate will be responsible for planning, directing, and consolidating the company’s financial data for accurate accounting and planning. Reporting to the CFO, will be a hands-on professional confident working in a manufacturing environment and ready to roll up one’s sleeves while also building a small team of accounting professionals to support our growing and evolving organization. With GAAP knowledge and manufacturing cost accounting expertise, will provide excellent accounting leadership, and mentorship to junior staff.

Responsibilities

  • Provide financial and product costing analysis, management reporting, planning, audit, and accounting support
  • Assess and implement internal control policies and procedures for all financial activities and maintain a documented system of accounting policies and procedures
  • Perform/oversee routine and non-routine tasks involving the processing and reconciliation of receivables, billing, payroll, accounts payable, contract revenue calculations, contract cost accumulation and reporting, fixed assets, general ledger, preparing financial statements, and supporting financial statement audits
  • Perform financial month-end close process ensuring all reported results are GAAP compliant
  • Produce the annual budget and forecasts, perform monthly budget reviews with divisions
  • In time, select, train, and manage a small team
  • Coordinate, collaborate and manage external audits and tax compliance

This role is hybrid although will be mostly remote for a few months while we build-out our Milford, MA facility.

Requirements

  • 7+ years’ related experience in similar role(s) at high growth manufacturing-oriented environments
  • A track record of transparent and effective communication across functionalities
  • Demonstrated success in ensuring the preparation of high-integrity financial statements
  • Strong collaborative approach
  • Excellent verbal, written and listening communication skills
  • Strong supervisory and leadership skills
  • Desire to grow responsibilities and oversight over time
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office with above average capabilities in Excel
  • Comprehensive knowledge of standard concepts, practices and procedures within the accounting and finance field, including cost accounting and manufacturing
  • Hands on experience and confidence working with ERP systems, idea
