Contract Administrator – Permanent Full Time
SkyFire Energy, a leader in Solar Engineering, Procurement, Construction (EPC), and Operations & Maintenance (O&M), is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Contract Administrator to support project managers, procurement, engineering, and legal team members. This role will be responsible for the administration of prime EPC agreements, subcontract agreements, purchase orders, and other legal contracts. The ideal candidate will have experience coordinating technical, commercial, and legal reviews of contracts, ensuring ongoing compliance, and mitigating risks associated with project execution.
Primary Duties:
- Support project managers, sales team members, and SkyFire Energy’s General Counsel in the negotiation, execution, and administration of EPC prime contracts, subcontracts, and purchase orders to align with company objectives and risk management strategies
- Develop and implement contract management best practices, ensuring consistency and efficiency in contract execution and administration
- Manage the contract lifecycle and administration process, including coordinating signatures, tracking deadlines, managing change orders, and resolving disputes
- Identify and mitigate contractual and supply chain risks, providing proactive solutions to protect the company’s interests
- Coordinate technical, commercial, and legal reviews of agreements, working closely with project management, engineering, procurement, and legal teams
- Work with operations and finance teams to ensure compliance with contractual obligations, tracking key deliverables and financial commitments
- Provide training and support to project managers and other stakeholders on contract management, risk assessment, and compliance strategies including claims, change orders, and dispute resolution.
- Conduct contract audits and assessments to ensure adherence to legal and regulatory requirements.
- Support dispute resolution and contract enforcement efforts as needed, collaborating with legal counsel and leadership teams
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, construction management, or a related field
- Certification in contract management or related discipline (e.g. Certified Commercial Contracts Manager (CCCM), Certified Professional Contract Manager (CPCM), or Supply Chain Management Professional (SCMP)) preferred
- 5+ years of experience in contract management or supply chain administration, preferably in the construction industry
- Strong understanding of construction contracts and legal principles
- Experience in negotiating and administering contracts for large-scale energy or infrastructure projects
- Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills with the ability to work across multiple departments
- High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple contracts, deadlines, and stakeholders simultaneously.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Preference will be given to candidates living in Calgary or Edmonton, or those willing to relocate to either city.
