Content and Knowledge Specialist

This position can only be based in the WRI US office (DC) or can be fully remote where WRI is state registered with preference to EST time zone. About the Program:**

WRI Ross Center for Sustainable Cities’ air quality program is a global initiative that seeks to identify, build awareness of, and eliminate the root causes of air pollution that damage climate, human, and ecosystem health. The program has three main areas of work:

• engagement with city stakeholders to develop targeted, cost-effective clean air solutions to protect human health and climate,
• collaboration with the science community to convert innovative data tools and products that communities and policymakers can use to better manage their impact on the atmosphere, and
• partnership with governments and business networks to design and implement broader regional-to-global air quality governance.

This position will primarily focus on the Clean Air Catalyst, a United States Agency for International Development (USAID)-funded project and will provide additional support to other air quality projects within the air quality program’s portfolio. WRI’s air quality portfolio also includes the recently launched Canairy Alert, a project funded by the Clean Air Fund and the United Nations Environment Programme, that aims to create high-quality forecasts for cities in the African continent, as well as a Community of Practice to air quality managers in Latin America and Africa.

Job Highlight:**

You will work closely with the Clean Air Catalyst project’s global science and communications and engagement leads to translate our air quality experience on the ground into shareable insights aimed at scientists, public policy experts, city governments, civil society stakeholders, and all parties interested in our methodologies and tools. This work can extend to other projects in the air quality portfolio such as the recently launched Community of Practice for Africa and Asian air quality managers.

You will be supported by the Communications and Engagement Manager, and the project management team.

You will report to the Communications and Engagement Manager.

This position will be a hybrid model of remote and in-office.

**What you will do:

**

**Curriculum Development and Training  (60%)
**

• Collaborate with Clean Air Catalyst subject matter experts to design, write and deploy training guides, interactive learning opportunities and communication products like briefings, reports, blogs and presentation decks
• Produce webinars and support email and social media marketing
• Provide strategic and coordination support to project teams in three cities for the organization of technical capacity building webinars

**
Knowledge Products (20% time)**

• Support workstream leads in the development and editing of knowledge products such as briefing papers, external memos, short reports, white papers, and others
• Write and edit content for donor reports, in particular by contributing learning insights and impactful stories

**
Project Coordination (20% time)**

• Develop and write agenda, run-of-show documents, and other external-facing material for webinars and training
• Coordinate input from team members across time zones to presentations used at internal and external events
• Support the Communications Manager in making logistical arrangements for webinars, conferences, and other internal and external events

What you will need:**

• Education: You have a Bachelor's degree in Instructional Design, Education, Science Communication, International Development, Sustainability, Urban Planning, Project Management, Journalism, Atmospheric Chemistry or other relevant disciplines
• Experience: You have 3+ years of experience in e-learning, communications, project management, writing/editing, content production and/or web management. You also have
• with preference to working in the air quality or climate field.
• You have experience translating environmental research and progress reports into transferrable lessons and methodologies
• Languages: Verbal and written English proficiency required.
• Requirements: Existing work authorization is required where this position is based. WRI is unable to authorize visa work authorization.
