ABOUT THE ROLE
Join us as a vital contributor in the Power Markets group within our Energy & Climate Practice at 3Degrees. This role involves conducting insightful research and analysis to drive client success, working collaboratively with senior-level team members. Our consultancy is dedicated to developing and implementing innovative renewable energy and carbon reduction solutions for large organisations. We focus on reducing energy supply emissions and fostering sustainability within robust programs.
This full-time position welcomes candidates ideally located within commuting distance of our London, Oslo, or Hague offices, offering a flexible hybrid-working arrangement. Remote exceptional candidates based in Hungary, Italy, Spain, UK, the Netherlands, and Norway may also be considered. You'll report to the Director, Energy & Climate Practice, Power Markets, Europe.

WHAT YOU’LL DO
Our Consultants bring renewable energy domain expertise, and perform the following work:
● Support client work through financial modelling, presentations, memos, and fulfilling additional client requests.
● Conduct complex analyses by modifying existing models or creating new models to meet client needs. Examples include financial and risk analyses for power purchase agreements, project proformas with scenarios and sensitivity analyses, energy market back casts and projections, battery storage and green hydrogen. Use statistical know-how to interpret results as appropriate
● Conduct independent research using your ingenuity and curiosity to make reasonable assumptions and come up with appropriate solutions, at times with incomplete information. This may include country-level energy market research, delving into standards documents to find specific references or proof points, as well as research on complex topics such as regulatory proceedings.
● Translate results of research and analysis into clear visual representations
● Implement error-checking processes, ensuring accuracy, and contribute to expanding subject matter expertise within the team.
ABOUT YOU
You're passionate about analysing, researching, and offering data-driven solutions. You possess a proactive approach, love asking questions, and thrive in presenting information clearly. Your attention to detail, organisational skills, and prior experience in management consulting, specifically in renewable energy and climate change, make you an asset. You have the following:
● Minimum 2 years supporting clients in management consulting.
● Expertise in renewable energy, battery storage, and wholesale energy markets (domestic and/or international), retail electricity supply, utility green tariffs, and greenhouse gas inventories.
● Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, handling large datasets, and Tableau.
● Exceptional research skills, adept at structuring findings logically.
● Strategic, conceptual, analytical thinking and decision-making skills. Highly organised, reliable, and well-structured in your research and analyses
● Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including experience making/delivering presentations to external clients and internal stakeholders
● Highly organised, versatile, and adaptable to various project types.
● Preferably holds a Bachelor's Degree in Science, Engineering, Business, or Economics with analytical professional experience. (Master's Degree preferred but not required)

● You have an understanding of the breadth and depth of our consulting services and have a solid client service mindset
Within 90 days
● You can work independently and know when and where to seek information and resources
● You are building knowledge in our core services, adapting it to different project types, and expanding upon it by sharing key insights with the team
● You are familiar with the team’s various internal tools and models in standard applications
● You are supporting project work by crafting analysis, drawing insights, and formulating client-facing recommendations
Within 6 months
● You have a well-rounded understanding of the team’s key services and are actively involved in project work
● You are able to deliver tasks tailored to client needs and can slot into a variety of new or existing project types
● You can use a the team’s various internal tools and models in standard and more complicated applications
Within 12 months
● You are building and improving the team’s internal tools/models and methodologies
● You can effectively prioritise tasks and manage small parts of larger projects (i.e. delegating tasks to peers or managing up to bring in more senior support when needed)
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
● The base pay for this role is dependent upon many factors such as location, transferable or job-related skills, work experience, relevant training, business needs, and market demands.
