ChildFund works in partnership with a number of local civil society organisations to foster social change in communities, focusing on children’s education, health, social-emotional learning, protection and disaster risk reduction. As part of its commitment to localisation as well as to strengthening the integration of GEDSI into programming, ChildFund has been supporting its partners in Timor Leste to strengthen their GEDSI programming practices. So far this has been achieved through supporting some dedicated training and mentoring sessions.
Purpose
ChildFund Australia is seeking to engage a consultant/s to
- develop and deliver a tailored mentoring package for three of its partners in Timor-Leste focused on gender equality and disability inclusion integration across the project cycle; and
- support the design and facilitation of a partner reflection / learning exchange session on GEDSI involving all five ChildFund partners in Timor Leste.
Scope of Work
The Consultant will, with support from the ChildFund Australia GEDSI Advisor and ChildFund Timor-Leste Country Office staff:
- Co-develop a contextualised mentoring package for three partners, comprising three sessions of which at least one will be a joint session. The package will be developed based on specific areas identified by the partners for deepening knowledge and skills on gender equality and disability programming.
- Deliver the gender equality and disability inclusion mentoring sessions once every three months for ChildFund partners in Tetum. Outcomes of the mentoring session/s should be clear practical actions for each partner to progress their work on GEDSI integration into their existing ChildFund-partnered projects and organisations.
- Provide ChildFund Australia with a short report after each mentoring session, identifying progress and challenges faced by the partners in integrating gender equality and disability inclusion into their work, areas for ongoing support and agreed actions that each partner is seeking to progress.
- Provide ChildFund Australia with a final report at the end of the mentoring package, including any materials used or provided during the mentoring sessions, key areas of support and outcomes (evaluation of change in attitudes and practice), and any recommendations for future support or direction for the partners.
- Support ChildFund Timor Leste Office to co-design and facilitate a half-day partner reflection / learning exchange session on GEDSI for all Timor Leste partners. The purpose of the session is to provide a space for partners to share and learn from each other’s examples of GEDSI integrated programming practices they are implementing, challenges and learnings. ChildFund Timor Leste office will support in coordinating with partners to identify key themes and good practices partners may want to share, and in documenting the session learnings and outcomes.
Methodology
