Construction Manager (Edmonton) - Permanent, Full Time
SkyFire Energy is looking for a Regional Construction Manager to become part of our solar electric team in Edmonton, AB. This individual will be self-motivated, energetic, personable, and excited to work as part of a fast-growing company in the solar industry. This position will report directly to the Field Operations Manager.
Primary duties including but not limited to:
- Manage Edmonton Field Staff
- Assist in field development, create expectations and accountability
- Manage project scheduling in coordination with Project Managers
- Direct and support field teams to project completion
- Conduct and support Field Staff performance reviews
- Provide construction support and communicate best practices to Field Staff
- Work with HR and Field Operations Manager to recruit, hire, discipline, and terminate field staff with a goal to achieve safe, efficient, high quality and timely installations
- Support Onboarding, Installation Training and career development of Field Staff
- Review, approval and accountability of local Field Staff hours
- Assist with the implementation and coordination of SkyFire Energy’s QA/QC Program
- Review, approval and implementation of Project Construction packages
- Work with Field Operations Manager to provide scheduling expectations and feedback to Residential and C&I sales teams
- Work with Project Managers for construction support as required
- Exhibit leadership in the implementation of SkyFire Energy’s Safety Program at all times
- Implement strategies to improve efficiency and productivity
- Organize equipment and products required for project installation
- Implement and manage change when necessary to meet project outputs
- Email and phone correspondence with customers, suppliers, subcontractors, field crew and office staff
- Accountability of inventory management of products and equipment
- Willingness to travel within our service area and conduct site visits as required
- Coordinate local team building activities
Requirements:
- 10+ years of experience in the electrical and/or solar industry
- 5+ years of experience in onsite Field Staff management
- Experience in strategic planning or change management
- Extensive knowledge of Canadian Electrical Code
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Suite
- Must be a motivated self starter
