Highlights
WWF-HK is looking for Conservation Officer, Hong Kong Biodiversity in our Conservation Department who will be contributing to the conservation of the declining biodiversity in Hong Kong, especially in threatened areas such as the Northern Metropolis and Lantau.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
Help develop and implement biodiversity conservation projects and initiatives.
Carry out relevant desktop literature reviews and studies.
Engage and liaise with key stakeholders especially the Government, professional groups and relevant local communities.
Assist the Conservation Policy sub-team in drafting comments and recommendations to development plans and environmental policies.
Conduct field surveys and site monitoring when needed.
Work closely with other teams in the Conservation Department for synergy.
Support senior team members on publications, outreaching and administrative work when needed.
Required Qualifications and Skills
Degree holder related to conservation, ecology, environmental science, or relevant disciplines.
Minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience.
Fluent in Cantonese and English, working proficiency in Putonghua.
Proficient computer skills; Microsoft Office is a must, and GIS skills are highly preferred.
Strong interest in local flora and fauna, with intermediate field identification skills.
Good understanding on conservation issues and conflicts in Hong Kong.
Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.
Able to work independently and also in a team.
Open-minded and with a can-do attitude.
Outdoor field work is required.
Skills and experience in wildlife photography and drone photography preferred.
