Hours: Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 8:30 am - 1:30 pm (in person) & Tuesday and Thursday remote (3 hours per day)
Compensation Range: $45 - $55 per hour DOE
AGENCY OVERVIEW
Mission Economic Development Agency (MEDA) - Building on its 47-year history, MEDA is advancing innovative approaches to asset development. Its efforts are focused on serving low-income, Spanish-speaking San Franciscans. Our direct service programs serve 7,500 individuals annually through homeownership counseling and foreclosure intervention, business development, digital literacy, workforce development, financial education, and free tax preparation. We also devote resources to research and evaluation, community organizing, and advocacy. In the process, MEDA is helping to develop best practices in the field.
POSITION DESCRIPTION
As a part of the primary responsibility to provide quality instruction, the MEDA’s Workforce Mission Techies training program expects the instructor to meet assigned classes regularly; submit required records and reports routinely; teach the prescribed courses of study with the established curriculums in the timeline established; and adhere to the statement on professional ethics in accordance with Workforce Mission Techies training program policies, procedures, and regulations. Teaching would include a variety of formats: In person, remote, and online.
The instructor would build, set up, keep organized, and run the IT lab and classroom according to the coordinator of the program instructions and the program deliverables.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
Associate's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, related field, or equivalent experience.
Must hold active CompTIA A+ certification.
Two (2) years experience teaching CompTIA A+ training program or equivalent.
Professional experience using exam objectives in real-world use case scenarios.
Experience teaching adult learners.
Experience teaching in a classroom, hybrid, and online formats.
Demonstrated commitment to fostering a diverse, equitable, and inclusive working and learning environment.
Experience teaching students from diverse language backgrounds and varying levels of proficiency.
