About the Program:
Platform for Accelerating the Circular Economy (PACE) is the global collaboration platform for important public and private decision makers to share vision, promulgate best practices, and scale circular economy together. PACE Leaders have set the direction with a clear Action Agenda in five Focal Areas (electronics, plastics, textiles, food, and capital equipment), based on the best available evidence. In 2023 PACE is focusing on important human production systems, including energy and food systems, and critical enablers of circularity as identified in our Action Agenda. PACE was created in 2018 by the World Economic Forum and is now hosted by the World Resources Institute. PACE is facilitated by a full-time team in The Hague, Netherlands.
Job Highlight:
You will support branding, strategic messaging, media relations, social media, web design and maintenance for PACE, a global platform housed at WRI. Reporting to the PACE Global Director, you will be part of a growing and flexible team. You will be supported by the PACE program team to deliver cohesive strategic communications across the platform and will collaborate with PACE partners and WRI’s Core Communications team. Working with PACE partner’s communications teams, key priorities are telling stories of success in our community in the circular economy through PACE and PACE partner channels to strategic partners. In close coordination with the Program Team, you will also help develop strategic communications materials such as collateral-decks and talking points, fact sheets, news releases and publications. You will coordinate PR plans with our funders, strategic partners, project partners, and wider PACE community. You will help to oversee the relationships for PACE’s website and communications vendors.
What will you do:
Ensure that follow-up of PACE’s involvement with high level events (e.g. WEF Annual Meeting) is done thoroughly
Support the strategic communications Board Working Group, including upcoming workshops and associated activities
Coordinate on messaging and positioning with WRI's communications department and PACE partner communication; lead on campaigns
Collaboratively develop communications materials such as new releases, blog posts, op-ed's and talking points
Manage the PACE website, updated and adding new content, overseen with the support of WRI
Support on the development of PACE communications strategies for programs with partners
Track and evaluate metrics of success, and adapt strategies to grow and improve outreach result
Responsible for PACE collateral-decks, libraries of talking points and “house style and brand” (directly or through managed designer)
What will you need:
Education: Bachelor’s degree is required
Experience: Minimum of 3 years of relevant, full time experience working in public relations, journalism, or communications with salient link to climate, energy or broader environmental and sustainable development issues
Support communication programs in or for one or more nonprofit organizations, including developing strategies, messaging and generating media coverage
Experience working in a multi-partner platform or membership organization, or in a role coordinating many different partners
Articulate, versatile, communications professional with writing experience
Requirements: Existing work authorization is required where this position is based. WRI is unable to authorize visa work authorization
Potential salary:
Salary is determined by experience and other compensable factors.
