The Communications Specialist is a skilled writer and creative communicator who is inspired and committed to engaging people and organizations in Bulgaria across a broad range of mediums to partake in Greenpeace’s campaigns.
The position holder implements the social media and online mobilization strategies for Greenpeace Bulgaria’s campaigns and the day-to-day development and maintenance of Greenpeace Bulgaria websites, social media channels and mailing lists/newsletters.
Tasks and duties:
Collaborates with the Communications and Digital Engagement Coordinator to propose, develop and implement the social media strategy for the organization and the campaigns.
Participates in campaign discussions and planning regarding strategic issues, campaigns and organizational planning within Greenpeace Bulgaria and Greenpeace CEE.
Advises Greenpeace Bulgaria campaigners on how and why to use social media for campaigns.
Helps coordinate and facilitate information flow within Greenpeace Bulgaria as well as Greenpeace Central and Eastern Europe regarding campaign developments and operations_._
Gathers and analyzes social media data, provides reports and tailors strategy and tactics based on this analysis (Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube).
Supports the Communications and Digital Engagement Coordinator in developing relationships with external communication specialists such as media, commentators, advertising agencies that are strategic to meet campaign or organizational goals; cooperate with external partners (organizations, agencies, celebrities, artists and potential donors).
Liaises with outside contractors for developing online tools (website development) or content (photographs, videos, etc).
Writes and distributes newsletters to supporters (campaigns or general), in charge of social media (Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube) and website content management.
Ensures the content reflects the brand, values and tone of the organization, is in line with communications strategies and reaches the target audiences.
Manages the general e-mail inbox for Greenpeace Bulgaria.
Experience and skills needed:
University degree, preferably in communications or related
At least 2 years of professional experience in communications role
Very good written and spoken English
Experience with non-governmental work preferred
Collaborative and enthusiastic
Willingness to learn and to teach
Critical and analytical thinking
Effectiveness and efficiency
Identification with Greenpeace goals and supportive of Greenpeace values.
What we offer:
Full- time employment contract (40h per week) with a trial period under a labor contract
Gross salary: approx. 2020 BGN, depending on previous experience
