Communications Manager (Six to Nine Month Contract)
The post-holder will lead on communications, marketing and events for the Transition Plan Taskforce (TPT).
Background to E3G
E3G is an independent climate change think tank with a global outlook. We are world leading strategists on the political economy of climate change, dedicated to achieving a safe climate for all. E3G provides (jointly with UK CGFI) the Secretariat to the Transition Plan Taskforce.
The TPT was launched by HM Treasury in April 2022 to develop a gold standard for private sector climate transition plans. More information on the TPT can be found at www.transitiontaskforce.net.

Role purpose
In 2022 the TPT consulted on a Disclosure Framework and Implementation Guidance to support the development of high quality transition plans from the market. In 2023 the TPT will publish further outputs and will work to ensure maximum awareness and uptake by stakeholders both in the UK and internationally.
This role within the TPT Secretariat team will develop and deliver the TPT’s communications, marketing and events strategy to ensure desired stakeholder impact.
This will be a short-term contract starting as soon as practical and ending no later than 31st December 2023.

You will be able to manage a number of discrete projects simultaneously and balance competing deadlines. You are an intellectually curious and highly organised self-starter with a strong interest in (and preferably some prior experience of) the opportunities and challenges around climate change. You are a creative thinker, able to learn fast and to work flexibly with a range of people. You are prepared to go the extra mile to deliver high quality outputs to challenging deadlines. You are confident engaging with large numbers of stakeholders and ensuring high quality outcomes.

We will consider employing this post-holder on either a staff or a consultancy basis. The role is envisaged to be full-time but we will consider applications for part-time or flexible working.
E3G offers a competitive remuneration package for a non-profit organisation, based on qualifications and experience.
Location
This role is anticipated to be based in London including at E3G’s office in Southwark, requests for flexible working in the UK will be considered.
