World Resource Institute is hiring a

Communications Coordinator, Systems Change Lab

🇺🇸 United States 📝 FULL-TIME

**This position is fully remote-eligible and only for consideration within the United States (preferably WRI DC Global office) and where WRI is state registered. Existing work authorization is required at the time of application submission. WRI is unable to sponsor any visa work sponsorship for this position.

This position is a full-time, limited-term position ending December 30, 2022, and will require immediate work availability.

Job Highlight:**   You will work on communications leading up to and following the launch of Systems Change Lab. As the Communications Coordinator, you will assist with developing content for websites, articles, media relations, videos, social media campaigns and events.

You will be supported by both the Systems Change Lab and Climate Communications teams.

You will report to the Head of Communications, Systems Change Lab.

This position is fully remote from any state where WRI is registered.

What you will do:

Editorial (60% time)

  • Write and edit communications that highlight Systems Change Lab in a range of written materials, including websites, articles, newsletters, and media.
  • Copy-edit, fact-check, proofread, and perform quality control checks on website content, articles, newsletters, and other communications.
  • Develop storytelling from Systems Change Lab data platform and find compelling stories from data to feature in articles, infographics, and other forms of visual storytelling.

Communications Support (40% time)

  • Draft communications messaging, press and media materials, social media assets, newsletters, powerpoints and other promotional materials.
  • Provide broad support for communications tactics, including scheduling, email messaging, event support, engagement tactics, and other duties as required.

What you will need:

  • Education: You have a completed Bachelors degree or equivalent undergraduate degree in communications, journalism, or related fields

  • Experience:

    • You have a minimum of 1+ years of full-time relevant work experience in communications.  A background in climate communications and related environmental issues is required for this role
    • Experience with proofreading and copy editing skills, knowledge of AP and WRI style guides and the ability to quickly apply these to written outputs
    • You have experience in a previous role that required you to produce first drafts of basic communications products: website content, blog posts, and social media
    • You also have knowledge of basic Microsoft and other software tools: MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Teams, and common social media tools such as Twitter and Facebook, and experience with other specialized tools, such as Asana or Drupal
    • You have experience or interest in communicating with data or crafting storytelling for data platforms; demonstrated ability in presenting complex information in a clear and concise manner.
  • Languages: Verbal and written English proficiency is required.

  • Requirements: Existing work authorization is required where this position is based. WRI is unable to authorize visa work authorization.

**Potential Salary:
**
$53,000.00 - $68,000.00. Salary is commensurate with experience and other compensable factors. WRI offers a competitive remuneration and benefits package.
