Job Summary

The Communications Coordinator (CC) will provide organizational support that ensures both internal and external communications reach Textile Exchange’s audience in a way that is timely, branded, engaging and in compliance with General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) requirements. The Communications Coordinator will support the communications team to help achieve our mission of inspiring and equipping people to accelerate beneficial impacts at tier 4 raw materials.

Duties and Responsibilities

Communications Dissemination: Assist community communications

  • Assist with coverage generation through media pitching.
  • Write and collate information for media enquiries and opportunities.
  • Assist Senior Coordinators with both internal and external emails and newsletter send outs.

Social Media: Assist with management and monitoring of social media accounts

  • Support team with idea generation and coordination for social media content.
  • Work with the Senior Coordinator to create reports on social media results.

General Support: Support the communications team

  • Report relevant news and social trends.
  • Provide support with tasks such as: researching, press releases and proof-reading etc.
  • Create media distribution lists for press send outs.
  • Press coverage management and monitoring.
  • Assist coordinators with organisational tasks such as file management, managing calendars and scheduling.
  • Support Website manager with coordinating and updating web content.

Minimum Experience and Qualifications

  • Minimum of one years' experience in similar communications role.
  • Four-year college or university degree preferred.
  • Good editing and writing skills.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Excellent time management.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Computer skills: Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite required (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PPT).
  • Highly organized and dependable.
  • Display the ability to work independently, take initiative and personal responsibility, and be accountable.
  • Ability to work to deadlines.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines, while maintaining great attention to detail.
  • Cultural sensitivity—able to communicate well with people from different parts of the world, able to manage difficult personalities, and sensitive to differences in communication.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours to accommodate time zones and project deadlines.
  • Experience working remotely and using various digital communication tools is a plus (Zoom, etc).
  • Interest in working for an ethical non-profit is a plus.

Employment Package

  • Reports to: Communications, Director
  • Full Time Position, 40 Hours a Week
  • Location: Virtual/Remote, working hours in GMT/CET time zones preferred.
  • Annual Salary Range: 41,000 - 52,000 USD
  • To be filled as soon as possible (start date to be agreed between both parties).
  • Our offers for salary and benefits are dependent on the region of the final candidate. We post most positions based on a US-based Team member, but final offers are made in alignment with the final candidate's permanent residence and in line with Textile Exchange's regional employment package.
