The Communications Content Officer is a key member of the Communications team. This role is responsible for creating and managing social media content. The goal is to maintain a dynamic online presence and keep our supporters closely tied to our work in Nepal. This position will create daily social media content for all three of our major platforms and our blog and have an integral role in the public perception of the BlinkNow brand.
Reporting to the Communications Director, the Communications Content Officer works closely with the U.S. staff and Nepal staff to keep abreast of news and activities that can be shared through our online platforms. The goal is to engage with our current community and to attract new followers, donors, and interest amongst the general public.
Roles & Responsibilities include:
- Creating daily social media content across all three major platforms.
- Developing regular blog content to maintain a steady & consistent presence on our website.
- Coordinating regularly with the rest of the communications team, taking guidance from Communications Director to ensure our strategy for the year is being followed, and to continue providing new and innovative ways to improve our online presence.
- Assisting the communications teams with drafting monthly Roots program emails and quarterly newsletters.
- Support the development team by collecting donor video content.
- Maintaining a steady presence on Facebook and Instagram ads to grow our following while managing our spending within the annual budget.
- Creating original content such as infographics, videos, and photos as needed.
- Preparing the monthly report for the board as related to marketing and communications.
- Support teaching team with the English education program, as needed.
Qualifications
- 2 years of experience in a similar role.
- Associate or Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, media, journalism, or a related field.
- Fluent in English.
- Experience living and working in Nepal, or other international locations, a plus.
