Founded in 1991 and operating currently in three dozen countries around the world, the Institute for War and Peace Reporting (IWPR) is an award-winning international media and human rights development network, with charitable status in the United States, the United Kingdom, and the Netherlands.

Location: Remote or Tbilisi

Deadline for applications: Wednesday, 9 February 2022. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis, and an early appointment may be made for a suitable candidate. Early applications are encouraged.

Start date: end of February 2022

The Role:

We are seeking a Communications Consultant, who will create a communications strategy for IWPR’s Building Resilience in the Eastern Neighbourhood (BREN) project.

BREN is a new IWPR initiative focused on providing technical and financial support to peacebuilding and women’s rights groups across the South Caucasus and Moldova. BREN is supported by the UK Government’s Conflict, Stability and Security Fund (CSSF). The project is currently in the inception phase.

The communications consultant will be responsible for development of the project’s communications strategy in compliance with the donor requirements and overall project goals and objectives.

This consultancy is sought for an initial 10 days in the period of February - March 2022. See full Terms of Reference for more details and application process.

IWPR supports local reporters, citizen journalists and civil society activists in three dozen countries in conflict, crisis and transition around the world. We contribute to peace and good governance by strengthening the ability of media and civil society to speak out. We do this by training, mentoring and providing platforms for professional and citizen reporters; building up the institutional capacity of media and civic groups; and working with independent and official partners to remove barriers to free expression, robust public debate and citizen engagement.
