PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
Reporting to the Gender and Protection Manager, you will work directly on initiatives to increase the visibility of the helpline and promote its services, and coordinate all outreach activities including highlighting of the helpline to effectively inform the GBV sector and public on the Helpline services.
KEY DUTIES
- Review and adaption of the existing Communication and Visibility Plan, and development of new plan encompassing the Helplines new strategic plan (2022-2025).
- Implementation of the new Communication and Visibility Plan activities as agreed in the given timeframe.
- The development of a communication toolkit including promotional and outreach materials for internal and external audiences.
- Conduct outreach awareness and education sessions and coordinate counselling teams participation.
- Reporting- mainstream communication in project and support effective process documentation during advocacy meetings and public awareness sessions.
- Event coordination- take leadership in coordinating key vents ensuring high level professionalism
- Ensure compliance with CF policies and procedures.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor degree in communications, public relations, journalism, or related field.
- 5 years of work experience in the field of media relations, journalism or/and communication
- Experience working for NGO and/or in the field of development
- Demonstrated ability with social media marketing and promotional strategies
- Knowledge of layout and design for print and web-based promotional materials
- Ability to act in a tactful and diplomatic manner and work on sensitive issues with diverse groups of individuals
- Good research and analytical skills; strong verbal and written communication skills, fluent in English both in writing and in speech.
- Solid computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Creative Suite, HTML) and social media – Facebook
DESIRABLE
- Ability to conceptualize, design and implement information campaigns
- Good knowledge of visual design and layout development for information materials
- Communication, presentation, networking, and advocacy skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communications skills and ability to work under tight deadlines.
Remain alert and responsive to any child safeguarding or sexual exploitation, abuse or harassment (SEAH) risks, acquire relevant knowledge and skills to promote strong safeguarding practices, understand the child safeguarding and PSEAH policy and procedures, and conduct yourself consistent with those policies.
