šļøAbout the role
The goal of the Coastal Program Coordinator is to facilitate and lead the coastal conservation programs at GVI's Madagascar hub. You will facilitate the undertaking of all activities, including monitoring and evaluation, health and safety, as well as staff and volunteer management. You will need to be a flexible thinker, adaptive, energetic, have strong leadership skills, and be happy to live in remote conditions.
Role and responsibilities:
Coordination between teams and individuals.
Conduct surveys and monitoring.
Management of hub logistics.
Motivate staff team and volunteers.
Ensure high standards of project work are being maintained to meet identified objectives.
Assist in developing and updating training and operational material.
Help develop, monitor, and ensure all personnel are doing proper reporting.
Supervise and mentor staff and participants of the program.
Develop and nurture the alumni programme.
Ensure GVIās child protection policies are implemented and maintained
Assist with all scientific research/output/projects.
Deliver participant training workshops and oversee participantsā participation in project work and/or intern supervision.
Responsible for conducting the surveys in a safe and consistent manner.
š§©Requirements:
Passion for coastal and terrestrial conservation and a science-led approach.
Relevant experience working in the coastal conservation sector
Experience living in remote or communal living conditions.
Experience managing groups/participants/students (we will provide all project-specific training in-country).
Experience with coral reefs and marine conservation.
