THE ROLE:  This salary level position is responsible for interpreting part blueprints, development of work holding fixturing and the development and set up of part specific programming on various CNC machines. GibbsCAM programming software knowledge is required, 5-Axis module a plus. We offer a full benefits package to include Flexible Time Off (FTO) for salaried positions, health, dental, vision, investment savings plan, and additional miscellaneous benefits.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES: To perform the job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

  • Demonstrate GD&T knowledge and read blueprints.
  • Programming of CNC Machines using GibbsCAM programming software
  • Defining how to optimize the machining of part components
  • Optimization of the operation of CNC machines for lean manufacturing; removing waste, optimization of cycle and processing times
  • Compliance with all relevant safety regulations and standards
  • Train and instruct skilled personnel on the setup and operation of CNC machines
  • Develop visual work instructions for machining operations
  • Participate in part capability studies and equipment, fixturing or gaging Gage R&Rs
  • Assist with quoting new part machining plans
  • Participate in annual time study verifications back to routed standards
  • Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing using Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Participation in Xylem Watermark volunteer activities

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Associate degree in engineering or CNC Programming or Machinist Certificate
  • 3 years minimum experience in CNC Programming, GibbsCAM software preferred
  • Ability to setup and operate CNC machines; mills, turning and lathes
  • Independent work, following directions with little or no supervision
  • Problem Solving skills/training

DAY IN THE LIFE:

In this role, the working environment is both an indoor climate-controlled office and plant manufacturing environment. The physical demands may include but are not limited to occasionally lifting up to 35 pounds, and prolonged exposure to indoor and outdoor environments.
